The Stockbridge City Council voted at its February 26 meeting to approve a 180-day extension of a moratorium already in place for the approval of certain new businesses in the city.

  The city will continue to deny the acceptance of new hair salons, nail salons, barber shops, tire shops, pawn shops, title lending shops, cash for title shops, vapor shops, thrift and consignment stores, auto shops, used appliance stores, tattoo shops and assembly uses. Nail salons were included in this version of the moratorium extension, according to officials

   This marks the second extension to this moratorium, which was initially implemented in 2018. Stockbridge is still in the process of rewriting its zoning ordinance and no revised zoning ordinance has come to a vote before the City Council.
