Leigh Lipsky Bond

  Leigh Lipsky Bond, age 54, of McDonough, GA passed away January 9, 2012. Leigh was born at Whitman AFB, MO. She worked as a customer service representative for Kroger. Leigh enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, the swimming pool, baking, family events and her dog “Cooper”. She graduated from Forest Park High School Class of ‘75’. Leigh was preceded in death by her mother, Karen Murray Springer.

  Survivors are her children, Ashley Wilson (Gregory) of Concord, Katlin Cheeves and Drew Cheeves of McDonough; father, Joe Lipsky of Georgetown, TX; stepfather, Bill Springer of Griffin; siblings, Joe Lipsky and Steve Lipsky of McDonough, Billy Springer of Hampton, Tammy Carter of Cairo, Terry Hinds of Tallahassee, FL and Butch Springer of Hampton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Alice Virginia McCoy

  Alice Virginia McCoy, 68, of Rex, Georgia passed away after a long illness January 9, 2012. Alice was born in Virginia, the daughter of the late Della Bailey and Olin Donald Puckett.  Alice was the former owner of Tracey’s Bridal Shop in Jonesboro and later joined Primerica Financial Services where she advanced to Regional Vice President. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Timothy Dwayne McCoy and her daughter, Tracey Strickland.

  Survivors are her son-in-law, Alan Strickland of Locust Grove and an abundance of friends.

  A memorial service for Alice was held January 16 in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home with Scott Pinckard and Rev. Cheryl Brinson officiating.  Johnie Clyde McCullers

 Mr. Johnie Clyde McCullars, age 63, of McDonough, GA passed away January 9, 2012. Johnie was born in Dexter. He served his Country in the US Air Force from 1966-1970. He was a Senior Technical Support Engineer for Thermo Fisher for 20 plus years. Johnie enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, camping, gardening, woodworking and doing for others. He was preceded in death by his father, Cecil Clyde McCullars.

  Survivors are his wife of 40 years, Ann McCullars of McDonough; daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Mel Tipton of Marietta; granddaughter, Alissa Tipton of Marietta; mother, Iris McCullars of Morrow; brother, Don McCullars of Griffin; and several nieces and nephews.

Jessica Leigh Savage

  Miss. Jessica Leigh Savage, age 25 of Locust Grove, Georgia passed away January 11, 2012 at Southern Regional Medical Center. She was born in Riverdale, Georgia to Richard and Pamela Sims Savage.  Jessica graduated from Union Grove High School Class of 2007. She was a member of County Line Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading, shopping, singing, her computer and talking on the phone. She was a member of the Sunshine League of Henry County, played baseball and liked to bowl. She was a NASCAR fan who cheered on Tony Stewart. She will especially be missed by her beloved dog, Precious. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, James and Ruby Savage.

  Survivors include her mother, Pamela Sims Savage of Locust Grove; father, Rick Savage of Morrow; maternal grandparents, Palmer and Ida Lou Sims of Locust Grove; aunts and uncles, Billy and Leanna Sims of Locust Grove, James and Janice Savage of Morrow; cousins, Brent and Craig Savage of Morrow, Chad (Mindy) Sims and Travis Sims all of Locust Grove; second cousin, Connor Sims.

Shirley Harris

  Shirley “Meemaw” Harris, age 73, of McDonough, GA, died January 15, 2012. She was born in Hogansville to Erma Ruth Garner Fuller and the late James Edgar Fuller. Shirley was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Donald Harris; a brother, Edwin Fuller; and a sister, Ruth Driver.

  She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Robin and Steven Seymour of McDonough; two sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Lisa Harris, and James and Deah Harris, all of Locust Grove; her mother, Erma Ruth Garner Fuller of Hogansville; grandchildren, Jason William (Samantha) Harris, Lauren Michelle Harris, Jeremy (Peggy) Hardy, Charles Tyler Ramsey, and Vance William Harris; two great-grandchildren, Rivers Harris and Holden Harris; and a sister, Willie Mae Starr of Franklin.
