Willie Mae Saturday Collins

  Mrs. Willie Mae Saturday Collins, age 84, of McDonough, GA passed away April 16, 2012. Mrs. Collins was born in Collins, GA the daughter of the late Willis Oscar and Mamie Mae Outen Saturday. Mrs. Collins was a member of McDonough First Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, teaching school, teaching Sunday school and working with children. She also enjoyed cooking and working in the flower garden.

   Survivors are her loving husband of sixty-two years, Rev. Ray Collins of McDonough; children, Martha Collins of McDonough, Sally Collins of Englewood, NJ, and Allen Collins (Susan) of Kennesaw; grandchildren, Nick and Ava Gribble; sisters, Helen Stark of Florida, Peggy Stouffer of TN, and Nelle Holcombe of South Carolina; special friend, Faye Timmer of New Jersey; and several nieces and nephews.

  Funeral service were held April 20 at First Baptist Church of McDonough. Rev. Dr. Charles Thomas officiated. Interment Haisten/Eastlawn Memorial Park. Kenneth Clifford Couch

  Mr. Kenneth Clifford Couch, age 46, of McDonough, GA passed away April 17, 2012. Kenny was born in Macon and grew up in Warner Robins most of his young life. He was self-employed as a mechanic in his own business, European Auto Works. Kenny enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, motorcycles, golfing, boating and working on cars. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Kenneth and Margaret Coffey and his father, Robert Edward Couch.

  Survivors are his wife, Lysa Logan Couch of McDonough; children, Justin Bower and Dylan Logan of McDonough, Taylor Couch of Warner Robins; mother, Jeanette Couch of Warner Robins; sister, Robin Davis of Charleston, SC and several nieces and nephews.

Louise Jones Harrell

  Louise Jones Harrell, age 88, of Stockbridge, GA died April 18, 2012. She was born in Stockbridge to the late Benjamin and Mattie Jones. Mrs. Harrell was a retired dietician with the Henry County Board of Education and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Stockbridge. In addition to her parents, Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Richard Harrell.

  She is survived by her son, Tony Harrell of Newnan, GA; four grandchildren, Benjamin, Zachary, Matthew, and Jonathan Harrell; and five great-grandchildren

Richard I. Bonnell

  Mr. Richard I. Bonnell of McDonough, Georgia passed away April 18, 2012. He was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan to the late Ralph and Anna Lynch Bonnell. He served his country in the United States Army during WWII and graduated from UCLA with a degree in Engineering. He retired from Fulton County. We will all miss you but we know you are with Jesus and your special little friend Soupy. He was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Eskew and siblings, Elwin Bonnell and Pat Gates. 

  Survivors include his wife Jewel Bonnell; daughters, Rinda V. (Michael) McCabe of McDonough, Barbara A. (Danny) Aycock of Winston, Judy (Michael) Minton of Locust Grove; seven grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; several nieces and nephews.

John Edward Riley, Jr.

  Mr. John Edward Riley, Jr., age 67 of McDonough, Georgia passed away April 18, 2012. John was born in Wichita Falls, TX to the late John Edward and Eddie Marie Sutherland Riley, Sr. John attended Midwestern State University and retired after 28 years with Delta Airlines. He has been a member of the Elks and enjoyed painting, drawing, making jewelry, working in his garden and was an avid reader. He was preceded in death by a son, Justin Bruton and by siblings, Kevin Riley, Michael Riley and Shelia Hauptman.

  Survivors include his wife of nearly 27 years, Holly Strawn Riley; children, John E. Riley III of Corsicana, TX, Christopher Riley of Malakoff, TX, Jennifer Bruton of Tulsa, OK; siblings, Theresa Riley of Portland, ME, Pat Layman of Wichita Falls, TX, Shannon Savage of Wichita Falls, TX, Cindy Freeburn of OK, Tommy Riley of Wichita Falls, TX; many loved nieces and nephews.

Linda Dell McCombs

  Mrs. Linda Dell McCombs, age 62 of McDonough, Georgia passed away April 19, 2012. She was born in Atlanta to the late Janelle and Jerome Day. She retired from AAFES at Ft. Gillem and enjoyed walking, attending festivals and spending time with family.

  Survivors include her children, Daniel (Angela) Morris of Senoia, Tanya (Michael) Funk of Jackson, Heather (Garret) Rich of Griffin; grandchildren, Taylor Morris, Kyle and Shelby Funk, Nicholas and Haley Pitchford; sisters, Nina (Tommy) Powell of Pensacola, Florida, Judy (Jimmy) Welch of Pace, Florida.

Bonnie Mae Lee Crosby

  Mrs. Bonnie Mae Lee Crosby, age 75 of McDonough, Georgia passed away suddenly April 20, 2012. She was born in Bristol, Georgia to the late James Denver and Beulah Ophelia Harris Lee.  Bonnie had worked for J.C. Penney’s Outlet in Forest Park for many years and was a member of Oakland Baptist Church. She was very active in church, was a loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed taking care of everyone. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Melvin Eugene Crosby, Sr.

  Survivors include her children, Melvin (Teresea) Crosby of Lynnville, TN, Brenda Mae (Billy) Martin of Griffin; grandchildren of “Nanny,” Ricky, Dennis, Denver, Rachel Crosby and Billy Martin; siblings, Tony (Don) Ray of Waycross, Sherry (Carol) Dixon of Patterson, Marilyn (David) Crosby of Baxley, Diane (Lamar) Roberson of Middleburg, FL, Donald (Vivian) Lee of White Oak; numerous nieces and nephews.

Debra Simon

  Debra “Debbie” Simon, age 59, of Stockbridge, GA, died April 20, 2012. Born in Kansas City, Missori, she was a daughter of the late Elwood Lloyd and Dorothy Mae Robert Townsend. Debbie was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, working at the Georgian Gallery, and doing special things with her grandchildren, including baking cookies.

  She is survived by her husband, Gerry Simon; two daughters, Melanie Snipes, and her husband, Dirk, of Charleston, SC, and Lindsey Simon, and her fiancé, Danny Henwood, of Norcross; two grandchildren, Brady and Lauren Snipes; and a sister-in-law, Paula Davis of Missouri. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Davis.

Cora Ione Dover

  Mrs. Cora Ione Dover, age 64 of McDonough, Georgia passed away April 22, 2012. Ione was born in Bowden, Georgia to the late Walter Lee and Mae Bell Estes Richardson. Ione had been employed as a seamstress and enjoyed her animals. She was preceded in death by a brother, Winfred Lee Richardson.

  Survivors include her son, Johnny “Mac” Johnson of Oxford, Alabama; grandson, Cody Johnson; sisters, Phyllis J. (William C.) Doster of McDonough, Barbara A. (Willis) Cosper of McDonough, Bobbie Sue (Bobby) Avery of Roopville; numerous nieces and nephews.

Edna Ware Brazil

  Mrs. Edna Ware Brazil, age 82, of Locust Grove, GA passed away April 23, 2012. Mrs. Brazil was born in LaGrange, GA the daughter of the late Charlie Jim and Catherine Hamby Ware. Mrs. Brazil was a member of Philippi Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading her Bible, socializing with friends over the phone, and cooking. She was preceded in death by her husband, Morgan Ray Brazil Sr.; great granddaughter, Skyler Carter and several siblings.

  Survivors are her children, Ellen McSpaddin of Locust Grove, Morgan Brazil (Rose) of Locust Grove, Roger Brazil (Tammie) of Griffin and Barry Brazil of Griffin; 10 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild; several sibling and nieces and nephews.

Kathleen Miller Leathers

  Mrs. Kathleen Miller Leathers, age 84, of McDonough, GA passed away April 23, 2012. Mrs. Leathers was born in Alpharetta, GA the daughter of the late Emmett Sanford and Susie Mae Anderson. Mrs. Leathers worked most of her working career at Piccadilly/Morrison’s Cafeteria serving families with her smile and charm. She enjoyed shopping and was known for being busy cleaning. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Leathers and a son, Greg Leathers. 

  She leaves behind several dear friends.

Ray M. Tucker

  Ray M. Tucker, of Hampton, passed away April 24, 2012. Born in Cork, Georgia, Ray served his country in the Army and attended Mercer School of Law. He practiced law in McDonough, Georgia for over 30 years and served in the Georgia House of Representatives for twelve years.

  He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Sandi of Hampton; daughters, Tammi (Richard) Hines of Stockbridge, and Dawn (Beede) Stone of McDonough; grandchildren, Brandon, Autumn, Josh and Amber Young and Kendyl Stone; several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Edythe Brooks McClung

  Mrs. Edythe Brooks McClung, age 93, of McDonough, GA passed April 26, 2012. Mrs. McClung was born in Washington, GA the daughter of the late Henry Clay and Mary Chaffin Brooks.  Mrs. McClung worked for Christian Pharmacy in sales most of her working career. She volunteered at Hendrix Drive Elementary School and was awarded the County’s Golden Apple Outstanding Volunteer Award. She was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church and she served her country in the United States Navy. Mrs. McClung enjoyed working in her flower garden when she was able. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Thomas McClung and several siblings.

  Survivors are her daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Charlie Brannon of McDonough; grandson, J.T. Brannon of McDonough.
