Sheree Crudo Riggs

  Mrs. Sheree Crudo Riggs, age 54 of McDonough, GA passed away September 19, 2012. She was born in Marietta to the late Philip and Sarah Crudo. She courageously battled cancer for 15 years. Sheree was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Riggs.

  Survivors include her mother: Sarah Crudo, McDonough; sister: Amy  Crudo, McDonough; brother: Philip (Mona) Crudo,  Ewa Beach, HI; brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Raymond and Betty French, Swansboro, NC; brother-in-law, Glenn Riggs, Swansboro, NC. She is also survived by loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Mary Jennings Costley

  Mrs. Mary Jennings Costley, age 89 of McDonough, GA passed away September 20, 2012. She was born in Atlanta to the late Robert Joel and Ollie Lucile Walker Jennings. Mary enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.She was preceded in death by husbands, Woodrow Walker, Clyde Deleshaw and Jody Costley and by sons, James, Paul and Wayne Walker and granddaughters, Cynthia Walker, Kelly Walker Smith and Sherri Walker Burke.

  Survivors include her children, William (Janie) Walker of Orlando, FL; Oscar (Renee) Walker of Clayton; David (Arlene) Walker of South Carolina; Angela Walker (Greg) Hale of McDonough; 17 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Elon Harper Crumbley

  Elon Harper Crumbley, age 95  of McDonough, GA passed away September 21, 2012. Born October 4, 1916, she was the daughter of Ellen Knight and Lum Harper. Mrs. Crumbley was preceded in death by her husband, Bernice Crumbley and her sisters, Nora Watts Barham, Minnie Stanton and Musette Coan.

  Mrs. Crumbley is survived by her nieces and nephews, Beverly (Charles) Burnham, Bobby (Carolyn) Stanton, Tommy Stanton, Shirley (Fred) Rainer, Carol (Wayne) Greer, Paulette (Glenn) Smith and Bill (Susan) Coan, 20 great nieces and nephews and 29 great-great- nieces and nephews.

  Services were held September 23 at Timberridge Presbyterian Church, McDonough. Daniel Tracy Rasar

  Mr. Daniel Tracy Rasar, age 59, of Stockbridge, GA passed away  October 2, 2012. He was born in Tuscumbie, AL to the late Frank L. and Estelle W. Rasar.

  Tracy is survived by his brothers, John Rasar, Jerry Rasar, Jackie Rasar and Frankie Rasar.

Thurman Paul Stewart

  Mr. Thurman Paul “TP” Stewart, age 82, of McDonough, GA passed away October 2, 2012. He was born August 8, 1930 in McDonough to the late James Alton and Mary Perry Stewart. He married Willene Walker on April 20, 1957. Mr. Stewart graduated from McDonough High School in 1948.  He joined the Air Force at age 18 and served two years, being discharged as a sergeant.  He worked as a rural mail carrier and retired in 1988. TP was loved by many, and was a very generous, compassionate person.  He was a member of McDonough Presbyterian Church since 1958. TP was preceded in death by one sister and five brothers. 

  TP is survived by his wife, Willene Stewart; daughter, Leslie Stewart (Jay) Michael; son, Andrew Paul (Dee Dee) Stewart; grandchildren, Jonathan Michael, Allison Michael, Andrew and Sarah Grace Stewart; sister, Mary Moye; many nieces and nephews.

  Memorial services were held October 5 at McDonough Presbyterian Church with Rev. Olin McBride and Rev. Rachael Knoll officiating. Interment McDonough City Cemetery. James Wartjerm Cook

  Mr. James Warthern “Woppy” Cook, age 86, of Jackson, GA, passed away October 3, 2012. Mr. Cook was born April 1, 1926 in Butts County to the late Tommie Lee Cook and the late Evye Thaxton Cook. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maureen Blanford Cook; grandson, Michael Harper; and son-in-law, Aubrey James; brothers, Garland Cook and Wendell Cook.

  Mr. Cook is survived by his sons, Randy Cook, Richard Cook, Steven Cook, and Donald Cook; daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Don Little, Becky and John Ramsey and Sandra James; grandsons, Lt. Col. Don Little, Jr. and Jeremy James; six step-grandchildren; sisters, Katherine Phillips, Sara Ruth Kitchens, Billie Blanford and Shirley Elrod; and several nieces and nephews.

  Funeral services were held on  October 6 at Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Rev. Robbie Norman, Rev. Richard Culpepper and Chaplain Jim Weathers officiating.  Interment at Worthville Baptist Church Cemetery. Jerry Hutcheson

  Mr. Jerry Hutcheson, age 69, of Stockbridge, GA passed away October 3, 2012.  He was born in East Point, GA to the late Franklin Lamar and Kathleen Smith Norris. He was the owner/operator of Econ-O-Check Corporation. Jerry was preceded in death by his daughter, Kelly Denise Hutcheson. 

  He is survived by his wife, Peggy; sons, Darren Hutcheson, Jeff (Sherri) Hutcheson and Jason (Cindy) Hutcheson; sisters, Carol MacLauchlin and Susan Harris; grandchildren, Morgan, Lauren, Hunter, Taylor and Jacob. 

   Memorial services were held October 6 at Community Bible Church. Charles E. Sweatman

  Charles E. “Chuck” Sweatman, Jr., age 59, of McDonough , GA passed away October 3, 2012. He was born in Atlanta, GA to Charles Eugene and the late Barbara Jean Sweatman. Chuck loved golf and snow skiing. He was an avid Georgia Tech and Falcons fan.  Chuck’s grandchildren were his life. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Kyle Knight.

  He is survived by his wife: Lydia Sweatman; daughters, Christina (David) Armstrong, Kimberly Reece (fiance, Kerry Hassell), Lindsey (Brandon) Lane all of McDonough; father and step-mother: Charles E. (Helen) Sweatman; brother: Bobby Sweatman; step-sister: Amanda (Van) Ashley; grandchildren, Lexi, Charlie, Colin, Brandon, Ashtyn, Kaydee; step-grandchildren, Kaylen, Kensly, Austin, Skyy; many nieces and nephews.

Howard Franklin Vickery

  Mr. Howard Franklin “Frank” Vickery, Sr., age 78, of Stockbridge, GA passed away  October 4, 2012. He was born in Atlanta to the late William Howard Taft and Berton Estelle Singleton Vickery. He volunteered with Henry County Senior Services offering tax services, and he volunteered with Henry County Juvenile Court's Citizen's Panel. Frank enjoyed camping and fishing and was a member of First Baptist Church of Stockbridge. Mr. Vickery was Mr. Fixit. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. 

  Frank is survived by his wife of 39 years Joan Elizabeth Vickery; children, Debbie Vickery, Newnan; Karen (Wayne) Waldrop, Newnan; Larry (Pam) Walden, Ringgold; Vick (Amy) Vickery, Newnan; siblings, Inez Davis, Newnan, Jackie Hughes, Stockbridge, Ethel Klauss, Locust Grove; grandchildren: Alan, Byron, Lauren, and Read.

  Funeral services were held on October 6 at the Chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors with Rev. Reed Benson and Pastor Mike Creasman officiating. Interment Fairview Memorial Gardens.
