  Each weekday hot, nutritious meals are home-delivered to over a hundred homebound seniors in our county thanks to Meals on Wheels, a Henry County Senior Services program, and the caring volunteers who deliver the meals. These volunteers were honored last week at an appreciation luncheon held at the Locust Grove Senior Center.

  “I love the volunteers,” said  Rita Green, Senior Services Volunteer Coordinator. “They are the warmest, most sincere, giving people you would ever want to meet.”

  According to Green, there are 325 volunteers who deliver Meals on Wheels in an average month. On a daily basis, meals are delivered to over 100 Seniors. More than 4,000 meals were delivered during the month of August.
