This year’s theme was
“We’re Paintin’ The Town Pink with Awareness!” The front doors
of the school were adorned with large paintbrushes. Classes
participated by filling the halls with pink banners signed by
every student in the school.
Students and faculty
dressed in pink then paraded outside to form a large pink
ribbon. Joining the group were representatives from Piedmont
Henry Medical Center. The Piedmont Henry/Real Men provided a
special gift to each of the four cancer survivors teaching at
Flippen Elementary.
Students learned through
this event that even a small effort on their part makes a big
impact on the lives of survivors.
Flippen
Elementary opened in 2003 and is located at 425 Peach Drive in
McDonough. Approximately 730 students are served in grades Pre-K
– 5.
