Flippen Elementary raises money to help needy families

There is no lack of creativity at Flippen Elementary when it comes to supporting a worthy cause! As a way to raise money to help needy families in our community, Flippen Elementary held a pumpkin decorating contest.

Classes were asked to decorate a pumpkin as a favorite storybook character. Students voted for their favorite creation by adding pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters, and dollars to the container in front of their favorite pumpkin. The pumpkins were decorated as characters such as Charlie Brown, Sister Bear, Pinkalicious, SpongeBob, Monsters, Inc., the Grinch, Rainbow Fish, and many more.

The goal is to raise $1,000.00 to help families in need. The fundraiser ended on November 2. All contributions are still welcome. Visit www.flippenelementary.org of call the school at 770-954-3522 for more info.
