In an effort to preserve some of the history of our community, The Times is displaying photos of Henry County from the past. Yes, Folks, we know this was an easy one, but we were thrilled to have someone bring in a postcard that was mailed in McDonough to Tallullah Falls on June 22, 1910! If you went to our website and had a closer look, you will also see that there is a wagon with a man leaning against it, an overturned wheelbarrow and what appears to be a mound of sand.

Thanks to Sherrie Grant and Joe E. Turner and also to Sydney Brannen who sent in “a wild guess [that this photo was taken] prior to or during the 1920’s ... maybe sooner. It is the old courthouse building where the remodeled one is today. There appears to be no “square” yet and no roads that I can see in the picture. Only horse drawn vehicles.”
