As an homage to the
yellow dust that will soon cover nearly every outdoor surface in
Henry County, the fifth annual Yellow Pollen Street Festival
will be held this Saturday, March 16 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in
downtown Hampton.

The Yellow Pollen
Festival is a street fair that features local craft vendors,
artisans and festival food. More than 80 food and craft vendors
will line East Main Street and there will be a honeybee
demonstration in the train depot by local beekeeper Tom Bonnell,
as well as plenty of activity for the kids, including bounce
houses and games.
The Atlanta Motor
Speedway Pace Car is expected to be on display and for the first
time, the Mid Georgia Model Railroad Club will set up their
display during the festival. A solar astronomer will be on hand
and festivalgoers will also enjoy music by DJs JT and Jimmy
Smith.
According to Mainstreet
director Candy Franklin, there will also be exotic poultry,
spinning and knitting demonstrations, entertainment and plenty
of family fun to welcome spring. BloodSouth Blood Mobile will
also be accepting donations.
The
festival is sponsored by the Hampton Downtown Development
Authority and Main Street.
