Chuck Brisendine

  Mr. Chuck Brisendine, age 54 of Kelleytown, Georgia passed away March 19, 2013.  Chuck was born in Henry County, Georgia to Mary Ann Kelley and the late James Charles Brisendine. He attended Kelley Presbyterian Church and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Jamie Cook. 

  Survivors include his daughters, Kelley D. (Dory) Buice and Kayla L. Brisendine; grandchildren, Kindal R. Brisendine and James Lee Buice; mother, Mary Ann Brisendine; sister, Kelley Cook; nieces and nephews, Kristin, J.T., Cam, Blake, Kalley and Khloe. 

  Memorial services were held March 24 from the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home.  Rev. Ronnie Duffey officiated. Brenda Joyce Reichert Gilreath

  Brenda Joyce Reichert Gilreath, age 60, of Stockbridge, GA passed away March 20, 2013.  She was born in Thomasville to William Harvey and Llewellyn Redfearn Reichert. Brenda was a member of Henry Baptist Church.

  She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Willard Darrell Gilreath, Stockbridge; mother: Llewellyn Redfearn Reichert; daughters: Michelle Gilreath Jones and husband John Jones and Carla Gilreath; brother: Ken Reichert; sisters: Patricia Parris and Wanda "Bunny" Johnson; grandchildren: Emma and Joseph Hunt and Claire and Camille Jones. She was preceded in death by her father, William Reichert.

  Funeral Services were held March 23 at Henry Baptist Church with Rev. Archie Norman officiating. Interment Fairview Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, please consider honoring Brenda’s love of children by supporting an orphanage in the Ivory Coast, Africa.  Donations may be sent to Henry Baptist Church, 4035 E. Linda Newberry Crews

  Linda Newberry Crews, 52 of Stockbridge, Georgia died March 20, 2013.  She was born August 26, 1960 in Charleston, SC, daughter of Robert and Jeanette Newberry.  She graduated from North Charleston High School in 1979. She was an employee of D.B. Schenker. She was preceded in death by her sister, Patty Newberry, grandfather, Wallace Bowen and mother-in-law, Myra Crews. 

  She is survived by her husband of 32 years, William D. Crews; daughters, Melissa and Christi; parents, Robert and Jeanette Newberry; maternal grandmother, Mable Bowen; aunts, Alice Pope, Carolyn Watson and Betty Newberry; uncles, Esley Bowen and William Newberry; numerous cousins and dear friends.

Dianne Gladys George Bland

  Ms. Dianne Gladys George Bland, age 68, of Stockbridge, GA passed away March 11, 2013. Dianne was born in Atlanta, the daughter of the late John H. and Gladys Turner George. Dianne enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Buddy George, Doug George, and Don George. 

  Survivors are boyfriend of 21 years, Floyd Taylor of Stockbridge; children Tammy Bland Wright of  Atlanta, Tommy Bland of McDonough; grandchildren Amanda Wright of Atlanta, Michael Wright of McDonough, and Karey Bland of Coweta.

Jerrine Moss

  Mrs. Jerrine “Jerri” Moss, age 63 of Locust Grove, Georgia passed away March 21, 2013.  Jerri was born in Pisgah, Alabama to the late Harvey Lee and Miley Mae Thurmond Owens. She was preceded in death by her son, Don Jones.  She was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed gardening. 

  Survivors include her husband of 13 years, Buster Moss of Locust Grove; daughters, Paige Floyd of Jackson and Dawn Christian of Buford; grandchildren, Brandon Christian, Joshua Floyd, Blake Christian, Caleb Floyd; siblings, Ruby Suggs, Rebecca Hayes, John Owens, William Owens, Herman Owens; sister-in-law, Barbara (Ted) Godlewski of McDonough; nephew, Wesley Godlewski. 

  Funeral services were held March 23 from the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home. Rev. Michelle Rawdin officiated.  Interment Mount Olive Cemetery in Waterloo, Alabama.  Contributions are asked to be made to Noah’s Ark Animal Rehabilitation Center, 712 Locust Grove Griffin Road, Locust Grove, GA 30248 or to www.noahs-ark.org in memory of Jerri.

 

Ruth Winkles

  Mrs. Ruth Winkles, age 87 of McDonough, Georgia passed away March 22, 2013.  She was born in McDonough, Georgia to the late J.B. and Susie Johnson.    Ruth was a member of Sardis Baptist Church and was a retired cotton mill worker.  She was an avid reader, especially the Bible.  She enjoyed church activities and spending time with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerry Winkles and by a son, Wayne Winkles. 

  Survivors include her sons, Paul (Mary) Winkles of Kissimmee, FL, Gary (Judy) Winkles of Locust Grove; daughter-in-law, Mary June Winkles of McDonough; grandchildren, Patricia Marler, Christopher Winkles, Morris Winkles, Crystal Buckner, Candace Keovongsak; great grandchildren, Jackson, Mason, Izabel and Olivia; brother, Dalton Johnson of McDonough; numerous nieces and nephews.

Pamela Ann McGouirk Jackson

  Mrs. Pamela Ann McGouirk Jackson, age 62, passed away March 12, 2013. 

  Pam was survived by her husband, David Jackson of McDonough; children, Tonya Sheats of Douglasville, Andrea Moats of Jackson, Darlene Necessary of Peachtree City, and Andy Johnson of Grayson; 7 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild; mother, Eva McGouirck of McDonough; sister, Robin Slacum of McDonough.

Billie J. Nichols

  Mrs. Billie J. Nichols, age 73 of Locust Grove, Georgia passed away March 21, 2013.  She was born in Gadsden, Alabama to the late Mayburn Ira and Ilava Self Taylor.  She was preceded in death by her husband, James Earl Nichols, Jr. and her brother, Jerry Edwin Taylor.  Billie was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed working crossword puzzles and spending time with her great grandchildren. 

  Survivors include her sons, Steve Painter of Locust Grove and Mark Painter of Johnson City, TN; grandchildren, Brandon (Peyton) Painter, Stephanie (Paul) Castrovillari of Macon, Jessica (Steven) Painter of Locust Grove; great grandchildren, Christian, Adrian, Kayden and Grace; sister, Carol Taylor of Covington; niece and nephew, Tara Howard and Grant Taylor.

Nell Meier New

  Nell Meier New, age 90, passed away on Friday, March 22, 2013.  Mrs. New was born May 14 (Mother’s Day) 1922, and grew up in Atlanta. She was the daughter of the late Walter Gustav Meier, Sr. and Tommie Esther Griggors, and sister of the late Walter Gustav Meier, Jr. and the late Edward Harold Meier. She was married to James Howard New, Jr. in 1943 and was a devoted wife and mother for nearly 70 years.  They were neighbors and they met as 6 year-old children.  She was literally “the girl next door”.  Mrs. New was a homemaker who devoted herself to making a warm and loving home for her husband and children. She was predeceased by her husband in December, 2012.  A resident of Fayetteville, GA. since 1991, Mrs. New was a member of Fayetteville First United Methodist Church.

  She is survived by her son James David New (Doris) of Lexington, SC; daughter Ellen New Jeanes (Tom) of Stockbridge; four grand-daughters, eight great-grandchildren, a niece and several nephews. 

  A memorial service for Mrs. New will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 29 at Hemphill Memorial Presbyterian Church, 633 Hemphill Rd., Stockbridge.  Rev.  Allen Cross will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Sacred Journey Hospice in McDonough. SouthCare Cremation and Funeral Society in Stockbridge.

 

Lia D. Bradley

  Lia D. Bradley, age 27, of Locust Grove, GA died March 24, 2013.  She was born in Riverdale to William Samuel Raven, Jr. and Susan Madge Lowry Raven.  

  Lia is survived by her parents: William Samuel  (Karen) Raven, Jr., Locust Grove and Susan Lowry Raven, Griffin; brother: Ross Douglas (Susan) Reynolds, Athens; sisters: Nichole Anne (Daniel) Reynolds - Lenz, McDonough and Dana Michelle (Robert) English, Locust Grove; grandparents: Bobbie Jo  Raven, Jackson; Roy Lowry and Adrienne Lowry, Griffin.
