Spring Art Fest

  McDonough Arts will hold their Spring Art Fest on Sunday, April 21 from 12 p.m. until 5 p.m. on the McDonough Square. They are still accepting vendor applications. Applications are due on April 8 for the Art Fest.  Their Tastiest Traditional and/or Chocolate Pound Cake Contest will also be held that day. For applications and more information visit


Cut-A-Thon to Benefit Children

  Salon 1325 in Stockbridge will hold a Cut-A-Thon on Monday, April 8 from 3 until 8 p.m. 10 stylists at the salon will volunteer their time to cut hair for $20 per person to help donate money for The South African Children's Resiliency Project (SACRP). Avalon Church of McDonough helps support a village in South Africa that shelters orphans with AIDS. This event will raise money for that cause. Their goal is to raise $1,000 in 5 hours. Brenda Liston (salon owner) will donate 10% of all retail sales during the event to (SACRP) and will also providing food and beverages during the event. 4-H Summer Camp

 4-H summer camp for Henry County 5th grade students is filling up quickly.  A week of fun and fantastic memories awaits Henry County 5th graders at Rock Eagle 4-H Center, June 10-14. Kids Cancer Club Third Annual Car Wash

  The Kid’s Cancer Club’s Third Annual Car Wash will be held on April 27 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the Chick-Fil-A on Hudson Bridge Road in Stockbridge. All proceeds go to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.


GWRRA 14th Annual HeroDay

  The Gold Wing Road Riders Association, Chapter A, McDonough, will have their  14th “HeroDay” on Saturday, April 13 at 12 p.m. at Steers Steakhouse in McDonough. Crossroads Career Network

  Crossroads Career Network meets at Stockbridge First UMC, 4863 N. Henry Blvd., Monday, April 15 at 7 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall (lower level at rear of building).   Afraid of public speaking?  If so, let Henry County Toastmasters help. They can assist you in becoming a stronger, more confident speaker.
