Taste of Henry deemed a delicious success

Despite chilly temperatures, gray skies and occasional drizzle, spirits and appetites failed to dampen last Friday evening during the 12th annual A Taste of Henry, held at the Jason T. Harper Event Center at Heritage Park in McDonough.

Approximately 1,000 participants and several hundred vendors braved the unseasonable weather to support the annual food event held every spring to support A Friend’s House, a home for abandoned and abused children in Henry County.

Although exact ticket sale numbers are not yet in, according to Nan Jenkins, Director of Development for A Friends House, she estimated that close to $25,000 was raised.

“Given the rainy and cold weather situation, I was thrilled with the turnout, and grateful that so many people care about making a difference in the life of a child in crisis,” said Jenkins. “Many thanks to the food vendors, our sponsors and the community who made it such a great year and we hope to see everyone back next year.”
