TLC designer visits Winsor Gallery in McDonough

Gladys Magazine unveiled its premiere bridal edition, The Wedding and Couture Issue, at the Winsor Art Gallery on Macon Street in McDonough this past Saturday. The cover of the first issue features Monte Durham of TLC’s “Say Yes to the Dress: Atlanta” and Courtney Lynne Smits, Miss Georgia Teen USA 2012, who were both in attendance. The event was open to the public from 4-6 p.m., with Durham and Smits available in the gallery for autographs and pictures. Two modeling agencies were also on hand looking for new faces to feature.

A VIP rooftop reception was held afterwards for local businesses to showcase their work. Bliss presented Durham with a faux cake keepsake in the design of a wedding shoe. P.J.’s, Eagle’s Landing Country Club and Monterey Thompson also provided food. Local merchants all pitched in to help this privately funded event.

Mary Kay Cosmetics was the sponsor of the night. Jea Jackowski, who works for Mary Kay, was excited about  the night’s potential. “We thought it was a great opportunity to let people know that McDonough is a destination for weddings,” she said.

The issue spotlights McDonough as a terrific wedding destination. This unveiling was part of an attempt to show people the options they have for holding their wedding around town. To find out more about these options, visit DestinatioMcDonough Weddings’ Facebook page.
