Blood Drive May 11

  Knights Monumental AME Church will host a blood drive on Saturday, May 11, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. The church is located at 224 Red Oak Road, Stockbridge. For further information call 770-389-7382.

 

Art Reception in Locust Grove

  Artist of the Month at the Gallery...In The Grove. Stained glass artist Mary Anne Maslanka will be hosting a reception at the gallery at 3846 Hwy 42, Locust Grove on Saturday evening, May 11, from 5 until 7 p.m. There will be refreshments and a lovely door prize.  It is all free.  Join them for a spring evening of art and fellowship.

 

Henry Singers Spring Concert  

  The Henry Singers will present their spring concert “Destinations” on Friday, May 10, at 7:30 p.m. in the McDonough Presbyterian Church sanctuary. The concert, under the direction of Marion Williams and accompanied by Kasey Hawkins, is offered free to the music lovers of Henry County.  Everyone is invited to an hour of musical entertainment. The church is located at 427 McGarity Road in McDonough.

 

Henry County High School Class Reunion

  The Henry County High Class of 1973 is planning their 40th reunion to be held Saturday, August 31, 2013 from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. at Pilgreen’s at Lake Dow in McDonough. For more information contact Henley Varner at 678-549-5159 or hvarner15@aol.com.

 

4-H Summer Camp

 4-H summer camp for Henry County 5th grade students is filling up quickly.  A week of fun and fantastic memories await at Rock Eagle 4-H Center, June 10 - 14. Mr. & Mrs. Special Henry County Pageant

  The 11th Annual Mr. & Miss Special Henry County Pageant will be held on July 27 at Salem Baptist Church. AARP 55 Alive Mature Driving Class

  AARP instructor John Milani is teaching a course in defensive driving this June at the Heritage Bank community room in McDonough. Milani’s “55 Alive Mature Driving Class” can help participants receive discounts on their auto insurance. A certificate will be awarded upon completion of the class. Registration costs $12 for AARP members and $14 for non-members. You must be at least 25 years old to register. Hampton Events

  Hampton will have their Annual Car Show at Russel's Automotive on May 11 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Come see the cars and enjoy free hotdogs and sodas.  Russel’s is located at 88 Woolsey Road. For more info contact Candy Franklin at 770-946-4306.

  St. Joseph’s Episcopal Church will host a blood drive on May 5 from 9:30-2:30pm. This is a wonderful way to give back to the community and help others in need.  The church is located at 1865 Hwy. 20 East in McDonough. Benefit Yard Sale

  Providence Hospice is having a yard sale to benefit The Alzheimer’s and Breast Cancer Associations. It will be held on Saturday, May 18, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Providence Hospice is located at 100 Corporate Center Drive in Stockbridge.

 

Gold Wing Road Riders Meeting

  Chapter A of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association meets the third Saturday of Every Month at Southern Cooking, located at 406 Highway 155 South in McDonough. They have dinner at 5:30 p.m. and the meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. For more information contact Larry Clemmer at 770-210-8652.
