James H. Edwards
Mr. James H. Edwards, age 80, of Locust Grove, Georgia passed away July 5, 2013. Mr. Edwards was born in Griffin the son of the late Patrick H. and Sarah Shipp Edwards. He served his country in the US Army. Mr. Edwards was a member of Bethany Baptist Church and a licensed minister. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, teaching Sunday school, bird hunting, fishing, and being an avid Georgia Tech Fan.
Survivors are his loving wife of sixty years, Peggy Edwards of Locust Grove; daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Gary Morris of Locust Grove; grandchildren, Rebekah Wood (Keith) of Andrews, TX, Carla McLean (Steven) and Gary Morris Jr., both of Locust Grove; great grandchildren, Meghan Wood, Gracie Wood and Brody McLean.

Mrs. Joyce Williams, age 70 of Stockbridge, Georgia passed away July 10, 2013. She was the daughter of the late Thomas Gus and Tommie Margaret Atcheson Phillips. She was a lifelong member of Roswell Baptist Church and enjoyed collecting chickens, working in her yard, cleaning house, fishing and deer hunting. She was preceded in death by siblings, Shirley Ann Phillips and Bill Phillips.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Al Williams; sons, David (Sabrina) Williams of Fayetteville, Ricky Williams of Juliette, Steve (Traci) Williams of Stockbridge; grandchildren, Amanda, Brian, Matthew, Autumn, Dalton, Christopher, Taylor, Drew, Cameron and Evan; great granddaughters, Breanna and Kenzie.

Janet Lynn Gallion Grubbs Stamm
Ms. Janet Lynn Gallion Grubbs Stamm, age 62 of McDonough, Georgia passed away July 11, 2013. She was born in Danville, Illinois to the late Enos and Frances Dyszkewicz Gallion. She lived in Georgetown, IL from 1968-1992, Covington, IN from 1992-2007 and McDonough from 1992-2007. Janet had worked at Community Bible Daycare and Preschool. She loved her job, her co-workers, but most of all the children. Previously she had worked for Dollar General as a Manager for 20 years in Westville, IL. She was a member of Community Bible Church. Janet enjoyed cooking, baking, dancing and spending time with her family and friends. She loved planting flowers. She was an avid bowler, having played on many leagues in Illinois.
She had been previously married to Perry K. Grubbs in 1968 and from that union they had three children: Carrie Grubbs Craig, age 44 and Toby Grubbs, age 42, both of McDonough and Nicolas Grubbs, age 33 of Danville, IL; five grandchildren, Brent Grubbs, age 22, Brittany Grubbs Laughlin, age 21, Zachary Craig, age 21, Braden Craig, age 17, Nathan Craig, age 17 all of McDonough; two great grandchildren, Hunter Grubbs, 9 months old and Kayden Laughlin, 8 months old; brother, Fred Gallion of Danville, IL; sister, Marsha (Bob) Stewart of Crawfordsville, IN.

Albert Norman Cody
Mr. Albert Norman Cody, age 79 of Hampton, Georgia passed away July 12, 2013. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Albert Amos and Blanche Davis Cody. He retired after 20 years with the United States Coast Guard. He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed his grandson’s activities.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Fay Cody of Hampton; children, Priscilla (Mark) McCammon of Locust Grove, Norma Ivie of Conyers, Christopher (Jennifer) Cody of North Carolina, Dena (Ali) Ozkan of Conyers; grandchildren, Tyler McCammon, April Ivie, Ryan Cody, David Cody, Cazimara Ozkan and Naomi Cody; great granddaughter, Amber Mason; brother, Butch (Dianne) Cody of Hampton.

Juanita Parker, age 88, of Stockbridge, GA died July 13, 2013. She was born in Atlanta to the late Ralph L. and Almedia P. Fisher.
Juanita is survived by sons: Joe E. (Sonny) Parker, Tignall, Marvin R. (Penny) Parker, Stockbridge; Jerry (David) Parker, Dublin; daughters: Mildred P. (Mike) McCain, Houston, TX; Sarah Ferguson, Stockbridge; sister: Alice Rickman, OR; 16 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

Steve Anderson Martin
Mr. Steve Anderson Martin, age 55, of Hampton, GA passed away July 14, 2013. Steve was born in Atlanta. He was a member of Moore’s Temple Baptist Church. Steve owned and operated Atlanta Trailer Service. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, rebuilding old cars and riding motorcycles. Steve was a fun loving young man who never met a stranger and he was always giving of himself to others.
Survivors are his loving wife of seven years, Kristy Martin of Hampton; children, Shawn Martin and wife Cami of Jackson, Stephanie Martin of McDonough, Madison and Marissa Martin of Hampton; parents, Rader and Jen Martin of Hampton; brother, Tony Martin and wife Sherry of Riverdale; two loving grandchildren, Kasen and Adalyn Martin of Jackson.

James Brennan Ryan
Mr. James Brennan Ryan, age 76, of McDonough, GA passed away July 15, 2013. He was born in Ainsworth, NE the son of the late Neil Burchman and Julia Beelaert Ryan. He served his country in the US Air Force from 1954 – 1957. Mr. Ryan received his pilot license at age 14 and enjoyed flying up until his retirement. He trained young children with the Civil Air Patrol and was a member of the EAA. He was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel Ryan.
Survivors are his best friend and companion in life, Jean Knowles; children, James Kaspari, Sara Ryan and Kelly Henkel; siblings, Jude Milliken and Mary McGinn.

Mrs. Jennifer Harris Taylor, age 48, of McDonough, Georgia passed away July 18, 2013. Jennifer was born in East Point the daughter of the late David Mobley and Patricia Polk Harris. Jennifer enjoyed spending time with family and friends, watching her children play softball and fishing.

Janet Lynne Vernon
Ms. Janet Lynne Vernon, age 55, of McDonough, GA passed away July 19, 2013. Janet was born in Fulton County. She was a member of Sardis Baptist Church and had retired as a paramedic for the Henry County Fire Department. She was preceded in death by her mother, Georgie Gorton Vernon.
Survivors are her loving son, Nathan Vernon of McDonough; father, Bill Vernon of Duluth; siblings, Susan Henry of Braselton and Michael Vernon of McDonough; aunt, Barbara Gorton and several nieces and nephews.
