  Mt. Bethel UMC is sponsoring a homeless feeding ministry called “Feed The People.” Lunch will be served this month on Saturday, August 24 from 12:30 until 2 p.m. in the old Mercer Building parking lot on Hwy 23, across from the Snapper plant.  Clothing from Agape Clothes Closet will be distributed to the needy.  To participate in this program by food, clothing, or volunteer time donations please contact the church at 770-954-1194.  Please inform anyone that you know in need of this program.  Food and clothing is free to anyone who attends the monthly luncheon.   Henry Baptist Church will present a 13 week spiritually based class for those who have lost a loved one.  This class is free and open to the public. The class is currently meeting on Sunday’s from 3 until 5 p.m. Topics include:  living with grief, the effects of grief, loss of a child, what is heaven like, journey of grief, loss of a spouse, and suicide.   McDonough First Assembly of God now has prayer and exercise on Wednesday mornings at 10 a.m. For more information call the church office at 770-957-6918, Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. The church is located at 338 Hwy 42 N. in McDonough.

 

  Wesley Chapel UMC cordially invites the community to their 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. services each Sunday. Sunday school starts at 9:30 a.m. Breakfast is served each Sunday morning. Childcare is available each Sunday as is children's church. Join them for their homecoming celebration on Sunday, August 25 at 9:45 a.m. at the Jason T. Harper Event Center in McDonough.   Heritage Baptist Church will hold a Back to School Youth Revival on Friday, August 23 at 7 p.m. There will be free pizza and every teen present will be entered in a drawing to win $100.     One Heart Community Church have their Academy After School Program Monday through Friday from 1 p.m. until 7 p.m. Children will receive snacks, help with homework and tutoring, Bible study and cooking classes among other activities. On Friday, August 23 there will be a cook-out and Movie Under The Stars from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday, August 24 will be Family Field Day with water slide, pizza, ping pong and horse shoes from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. On Sunday, August 25 a BBQ dinner on the grounds, $3 per person, will follow the 11 a.m. service.   Glen Haven Baptist Church invites the community to hear Sr. Pastor Stan Berrong Sunday, August 25 for “Celebration Sunday” in the 8:15, 9:45 and 11 a.m. worship services.  There will not be an evening service and Awana clubs will not meet.   Mount Carmel Baptist Church Women’s Ministry presents Make a Joyful Noise Unto the Lord Gospel Extravaganza Saturday, August 24 at 3 p.m. There will be soloists, choirs, and male choirs.
