Robert Moye Cochran, Sr.
Robert Moye Cochran Sr. (Bob) of Conyers, Georgia. died January 7, 2014. Bob was born in Wrightsville but grew up in Savannah. He graduated from Commercial High School in 1955. During those years he and his twin brother were known for their dancing abilities. They studied under, as well as danced with, Marilyn Youmans and Ruth Goodman. After High School Bob entered the Navy and was stationed on the USS Kitty Hawk with tours to the Mid-East. Following his Navy Career, Bob lived in Forsyth and completed a one year Mortuary Internship at the Ash-Dillon Funeral Home. After completion of his internship he then completed his studies at Gupton Jones College of Mortuary Science in Dallas, Texas. In 1966 Bob began his career with H.M. Patterson and Son Funeral Home in Atlanta. He remained with them until he retired in 2003. During his life he loved an afternoon of fishing but his real passion was music. After retirement Bob enjoyed spending time making memories with his three children; Wendee Moye Cochran Hutchins, Paige Cochran Sorrow and Rob Cochran. He also enjoyed his 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Services were held January 11 at Southern Crescent Baptist Church in McDonough. Richard Keith Patten
Richard Keith Patten, age 47, of McDonough, GA died January 11, 2014. He was born in Thomasville to the late Ronald Dean Patten, Sr. and the late Nancy Leola Moore.
Mr. Patten is survived by his children, Maranda Patten and Kalib Patten, McDonough; brothers, Dwight Patten, Whigam, Ronald Patten, McDonough, Gerald Patten and Terald Patten also both of Cairo; half brother, Nicholas Patten; half sister, Kimberly Vander-grift; stepsister, Rhonda Ackinson; stepbrothers, Larry Moore, Wayne Moore and Scott Moore.

Mrs. Bonnie Young, age 62 of McDonough, Georgia passed away January 12, 2014. She was born in Elgin, Illinois to the late Marvin and Viola Hebeisen Egger. Bonnie was a paralegal for 35 years. She was a former president and current member of the Chow Chow Club, Inc. and the Chow Chow Fanciers of Atlanta.
Survivors include her husband, Harold Young; children, Matt-hew Frankic, Kevin Frankic, Renee Meeks and Gregory Young; grandchildren, Tora Grace Frankic, Canaan Frankic, Josh Meeks and Chaz Fausel; great granddaughter, Ella Fausel; brothers, Tom and Michael Egger, both of Illinois.

Metta Cantrell, age 80, of Stockbridge, GA died Sunday, January 12, 2014. She was born in Napoleon, ND to the late Clad Leonard and Ruby Georgina Mennes.
Metta is survived by her daughters: Robin (Davey) Webb, and Rhonda (Jim) Miller; grandchildren: Amber Bunn, Ashley Lindsey, Justin Webb; and 5 great-grandchildren.

Rex Noland Smith
Rex Noland Smith, age 59, of Stockbridge, GA died January 12, 2014. Rex was born in Atlanta, the son of the late Clyde Bernard Smith and Doris Imogene Causey Smith. Rex was known as a private person but he did enjoy spending time with family and friends. He was a master mechanic in high performance vehicles; he enjoyed fishing, and Waffle House coffee. He served his country in the US Army for two years. He was preceded in death by a brother, Norman Smith.
Survivors are his wife Jessica Benefield-Smith of Locust Grove; children, Shannon Smith and Tonya Smith of Cartersville, Rex Benefield Smith and Douglas Edwin Smith of Locust Grove; brother, Smitty Smith.

Bastian G. Alicea
Mr. Bastian G. Alicea, age 18 of Stockbridge, Georgia died January 13, 2014. He was born in San Bernardino, California to Gabriela Lopez and the late Gilberto Alicea, Jr. Bastian, known as “Batty” was a 2013 graduate of Dutchtown High School and was employed with the Encompass Group of McDonough. He enjoyed his exercise workout, baseball, music and was full of life. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Gilberto Alicea, Sr., grandmother, Martha Morera and by great grandmother, Paula Morera.
Survivors include his mother, Gabriela Lopez of Stockbridge; stepfather, Jorge Rodriquez of Homestead, FL; sisters, Liliana Lopez and Dalaymi Rodriguez; grandmother, Gema Alicea of Moreno Valley, CA; uncle, Fernando Lopez of Miami, FL; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

James Cleo Strader
James Cleo Strader, age 77, of McDonough, GA died January 15, 2014. James (Cleo) was born in Reidsville, NC on October 12, 1936 to Ruth Ann Gillie Strader and the late Henry Clay Strader, and grew up and attended school in Glenwood in Danville, VA. James (Cleo) graduated from Dan River High School, Ringgold, VA in 1958. Drafted into the U.S. Army in 1960, he served our country honorably for twenty years which included two tours of duty in Vietnam, one tour in Korea, and six years in Europe. After retiring from the military, he continued his professional career in management at Consolidated Freightways until retiring in October 1991. James Cleo Strader was a patriot, a beloved husband and father. He will be missed by many.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Gay Campbell Strader; sons: Howard (Kristen) Strader, Jim (Melissa) Strader, Thomas (Kely) Strader; mother: Ruth Ann Strader; brother: William Thomas Strader; seven grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Mark Hayden Charles, Jr.
Mr. Mark Hayden Charles, Jr., age 76, of Stockbridge, GA passed away January 16, 2014. Mr. Charles was born in Davidson County, NC the son of the late Mark Hayden Charles Sr. and Blanche Fishel Charles. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, auctions, Goodwill and Salvation Army. He served his country in the US Army. His pride and joy was his Pomeranian dog “Foxy.”
He is survived by his children; Terry Charles (Cynthia Branson) of Brown Summit, NC, Lisa C. Austin (Marty) of Jamestown, NC, and Robby Charles (Barbara) of Summerfield, NC; grandchildren, Brittany Charles, Scotty Dinkins, Ashlyn Austin, Melissa Charles, and Lauren Austin; brother, Woodrow Charles (Carolyn) of Thomasville, NC; special friend, Sylvia Crumbley of McDonough and several nieces and nephews.

Todd Burrell, age 53, of Jonesboro, GA died Thursday, January 16, 2014. He was born in Atlanta to Jerry William Burrell and Brenda Gunter Burrell Neese.
