William Arthur Niblett
William Arthur Niblett, age 93, of McDonough, GA died January 16, 2014. He was born in Covington to the late John Henry and Katie Pauline Niblett. William was a member of Rock Baptist Church, Rex, GA. He retired from IBEW 613, enjoyed going out to eat, the movies, loved to swim and spending time with family and friends. He served in the Army and the United States Navy during WWII, and he was stationed in Alaska.
Mr. Niblett is survived by his sons: Michael Arthur (Kay) Niblett, McDonough, GA; Steven Lamont Niblett; two very special granddaughters: Wendy Lynn (Al) Stephens and Cynthia Kay Niblett.

Carolyn V. Duffey Tomlin
Carolyn V. Duffey Tomlin, age 86, of Jonesboro, GA died January 18, 2014. She was born in Griffin to the late Clinton Smith and Lunie Clyde Davis Duffey. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Thamuel Tomlin, Sr.
Carolyn is survived by children, Jana Louise Ragsdale, Rex; Marsha Warren (Daryl H.) Moore, Jonesboro; Jimmy Michael Ragsdale, Charlotte, NC; Bobby S. (Tina) Tomlin Jr., Griffin and Douglas Dale (Laurie) Tomlin, Huber Heights, OH; brother, Troy Smith (Virginia) Duffey Sr., McDonough; sister, Sarah Louise Duffey Burke, Laurel, MS; 12 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Shirley Preston Cline
Mrs. Shirley Preston Cline, age 76, of McDonough, GA passed away January 18, 2014. Mrs. Cline was born in Kendallville, Indiana the daughter of the late Denver Otis and Mary Kate Fought Preston. Mrs. Cline and her husband owned and operated Engine Parts Warehouse most of her working career. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, shopping and decorating. She was preceded in death by her son, Gregory Lynn Cline.
Survivors are her husband of 58 years, Samuel Cline of McDonough; daughter, Janel Cline of St. Mary’s; daughter-in-law, Lisa Cline of McDonough; grandsons, Jared (Jessica) Cline and Justin Cline (Leah) of McDonough; great grandchildren, Hudson and Isabella Cline; brother, Larry Preston and his wife Gloria from LaGrange, Indiana.

Ronald W. Harris
Ronald W. (Ronny) Harris age 69 of Hampton, GA died January 18, 2014. He was a loving husband, father and granddaddy who will be greatly missed. Ronny was retired from Delta Airlines after 37 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Tillman and Dorothy Stewart Harris and a granddaughter, Hayley Nicole Harris.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Barbara Harris of Hampton; sons and daughters-in-law, Bill Harris and Carly Long, Mike and Audrey Harris and grandson, Ryan Harris of Hampton; granddaughter, Ash-ton Harris of Hampton; brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Elaine Harris of McDonough; sister, Louise Etheridge of Forest Park; many nieces, nephews and friends.

Evelyn Turner Norsworthy
Mrs. Evelyn Turner Norsworthy, age 91, of McDonough, GA passed away January 19, 2014. She was born and raised in the Ola Community, the daughter of the late Lawrence Edwin and Fannie Ridgeway Turner. She graduated from McDonough High School, received her normal diploma certificate from GSCW and her first teaching job was in Locust Grove. In 1943 she married Horace Norsworthy who was in the US Navy and after WWII they settled on a farm in Ola and raised three children, Edith, Tom and Susan. She returned to teaching in 1956. She received her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Tift College in 1964. Mrs. Norsworthy taught for 30 years, most of that time was first and second grade at McDonough Primary School. She was a lifelong member of Turner United Methodist Church where she taught the adult Sunday School Class, Bible School, sang in the choir, was active in the United Methodist Women, serving several times as president of the UMW. After retiring from teaching she enjoyed participating in the Retired Teachers Association. Mrs. Norsworthy was preceded in death by all of her siblings, son-in-law, Chuck Ellenberger and step grandsons, Nathan and Eric Horne.
She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Horace Norsworthy; daughters, Edee Norsworthy Ellenberger and Susan Norsworthy and her husband Dee Horne; son, Tom Norsworthy; grandsons, Ben Ellenberger and Tom Ellenberger and his wife Angelina; great granddaughter, Madison Horne. Even though she struggled through several years of failing health, she remained sweet and loving as always.
Funeral services for Mrs. Norsworthy were held January 22 at Turner United Methodist Church with Rev. Leon Baxter and Rev. James Miller officiating. Interment in the church cemetery. Amy Lynn Pittman Merchant
Ms. Amy Lynn Pittman Merchant, age 31, of McDonough, Georgia passed away January 20, 2014. Amy was born in Fulton County. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, her boys, reading and writing poetry.
Survivors are her boys, Jacob Merchant and Jaxon Baity of McDonough; parents, Danny and Lynn Sheets of McDonough; siblings, Daniel Pittman (Brandy) of Knoxville, TN, Chris Sheets of McDonough; nieces, Lindsey, Rachel, and Lucy; significant other, Jeremy Baity of McDonough.

James W. Showman, III
James W. Showman, III, age 50, of McDonough, Georgia died January 22, 2014. He was born in Garfield Heights, Ohio to James W. and Patricia Showman, Jr. Jimbo had a love for restoring classic cars, was known as a hardworker, being loyal and caring, and for his mechanical ability. He also had a love for photography.
Jim is survived by his parents; his sister, Laura (Terry) Clotfelter, McDonough; his maternal grandmother, Patricia McKenny, Forsyth; his paternal grandmother, Susan Showman, Snellville; as well as many aunts, uncles, friends, and relatives.

Irene Iris Rivers
Irene Iris Rivers, age 95, of Stockbridge, GA died Tuesday, January 21, 2014. She was born in Highgate, VT to the late John Sidney and Vitalis Pearl Jackson. Irene enjoyed playing cards, board games, and spending time with friends and family. She was a determined and devoted woman who will be missed by all. Irene provided in-home childcare for many loving families over the years. She was known to many as Ma Rivers. She was preceded in death by her sons, Larry Graham, Gary Graham, Harry Graham, and grandson, Joseph Graham.
Irene is lovingly survived by her husband: Leo H. Rivers, Stockbridge; children: Joe and Barbara Graham, NY; Roy and Connie Graham, VT; grandchildren: Julie and Jeff Mamatas, Iris and Jason Harrison, Tammy and Jimmy Heintzelman, Marcella and James Rowland, Carol, Karl, Sarah, Laurie, Robert, David and Roy Jr. and numerous great-grandchildren.
