Marriott donates to
Children’s Healthcare

Patients at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta received a heartwarming donation last week from Courtyard by Marriott in McDonough.  Staff at the hotel made fleece blankets during the holidays and delivered them to the Children's at Hudson Bridge urgent care clinic on Thursday.

Deanna LoRusso; General Manager at The Courtyard By Marriott Atlanta/McDonough stated, “We are always looking for projects to give back in our community. Blanket Buddies has been a Marriott effort nationwide and we are just happy to be able to make a small contribution. This will be an ongoing project for our staff, as well as our corporate partners, who have been very generous in supporting our efforts with their time and gifts to produce these blankets.”

The blankets will be distributed to patients at the urgent care clinic who are being transported to one of the healthcare system's three hospitals in Atlanta:  Egleston, Hughes Spalding and Scottish Rite.

“We are so appreciative of community partners like Courtyard by Marriott,” explains Laura Turner, Community Outreach Liaison at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. “The blankets made by their team will not only provide physical warmth for our patients, but also provide emotional comfort by letting them know they have a whole community behind them.”
