  Mount Zion United Methodist Church invites the community to their Fifth Sunday Sing-A-Long at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday March 30 in the sanctuary. Guests from other churches in the community will participate, and congregational singing will be led by Mike Wallace, with Alice Wallace as pianist. Refreshments will be served afterward in the Harper Hall. The church is located at 984 Panola Road, Ellenwood.

 

  Heritage Baptist Church has Sunday School at 10 a.m.; Sunday morning service is at 11 a.m.; Sunday evening service is at 6 p.m. and the Wednesday evening service is at 7 p.m.  Nursery is provided for all services.   McDonough Christian Church will host “The Journey, A Good Friday Experience” April 16 and 18. Small groups will be guided through a time of reflection, meditation and remembrance of Christ’s journey to the cross. Children in 4th grade through adults are welcome. Childcare and activities will be provided for children, birth through 3rd grade. This program is approximately one hour; portions of “The Passion” will be viewed during the experience.  Reserve a time for either night between 6 and 8:30 p.m.  Visit www.mccreach.org to register.   CrossPoint Community Church invites the community to come hear Dr. James Elliott, a trained professional organic chemist as he teaches a 6-week study that started March 9 from 6 to 8 p.m. He will be leading a discussion to examine the evidence for scientific creationism. Dr. Elliott has a Bachelor of Science in Biophysical Chemistry and a doctorate in Christian Education and Theology. The church is located at 2093 Highway 42 North in Jenkinsburg. Refreshments will be provided from 6 - 6:45 p.m., with the discussion planned for 7-8 p.m. 

 

  McDonough Church of Christ invites women in the community to Ladies Day 2014 “Circle of Friendships” Saturday, March 29 from 8:30 a.m. until noon, followed by lunch.   Henry Baptist Church is offering DivorceCare, a 13-weekrecovery support group for those who have experienced separation or divorce. It meets on Monday nights at 6:30 p.m.  DivorceCare For Kids (DC4K) for children of divorced or separated parents is also offered. DC4K is for children ages 5-12, and runs simultaneously with the DivorceCare sessions. For more information, or to register, contact the church office at 770-914-1191.      Jodeco Road UMC will have a free Easter Egg Hunt for children infant through 5th grade on Saturday April 19 at 3 p.m. The Easter Bunny will be present to supervise the hiding of the eggs, prize eggs, and grand prize eggs as well as impromptu pictures. The children will be hunting in separate areas according to their ages with eggs, prize eggs, and grand prize eggs hidden in each age area. Other age appropriate children’s activities are planned.   St. Joseph’s Episcopal Church will hold their Annual Bunny Brunch and Easter Egg Hunt Saturday, April 19 at 11 a.m. Come join them for hot dogs, crafts, face painting and a special visitor. Donations are welcomed and appreciated. All proceeds go to fund their outreach programs. The church is located at 1865 Hwy. 20 East in McDonough.
