  Community Gardens of Henry is seeking volunteers for a Garden Clean Up opportunity on Saturday, March 22 at 9 a.m. at Wesley Way UMC, 150 John Wesley Way in McDonough. RSVP to join by calling 770-954-0000 or communitygardens@bellsouth.net. Lunch will be provided.

 

Hospital Fashion Show May 3

  Tickets are now available for the Red Carpet Affair fashion show on May 3 at 11:30 a.m. at Merle Manders Conference Center in Stockbridge. It will be put on by the Volunteer Auxiliary at Piedmont Henry Hospital. Tickets are $25, and the cost includes a hot lunch. 17th Hero Day April 5

  Gold Wing Road Riders Association, Chapter A, McDonough, will have their  17th “HeroDay” on Saturday,  April 5 at 10 a.m. at Johnny’s Pizza, 24 Old Jackson Rd., McDonough. The motorcycle chapter has adopted soldiers via www.HeroBox.org, an organization that helps support our troops by customizing care packages to soldiers serving our country.  Please help support our soldiers   by bringing any items/donations to Johnny’s, 24 Old Jackson RD, McDonough. Stockbridge High Multi-Year Reunion

  The Stockbridge High School multi-year reunion for classes 1966 through 1982 will be held October 18 at the Atlanta Airport  Marriott Hotel in College Park. The price is $70 per person until September 1. The cost is $80 cash at door. For more info call Keith Craddock at 678-618-1607.

 

Grief Support Group

  Compassionate Friends Grief Support Group is for parents of those who have lost a child. Meetings are the second Tuesday of each month at Salem Baptist Church on Hwy. 155 at 7:30 p.m. For more info contact Freddie Saye at 678-925-4027.

 

HIV/AIDS Support Group

Community C.A.R.E. (Com-munity AIDS/HIV Response and Education), a support group for those living with HIV and AIDS, will hold group meetings every 3rd Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. They will be held at Community Bible Church, located at 2001 Jodeco Road in Stockbridge. (For confidentiality reasons, the room number will be provided only on request.) Griefshare

  Henry Baptist Church has Griefshare each Sunday from 3 until 5 p.m. It is a special weekly seminar and support group for people who are grieving the death of someone close to them.  Their griefshare seminars and support groups are led by people who understand what you are going through and want to help.  You will gain access to valuable griefshare resources to help you recover from  your loss and look forward to rebuilding your life.  The church is located at 4035 Jodeco Road, McDonough, GA 30253.

 

Host Families needed for Foreign Exchange Students

  Host families are needed to host foreign exchange students who will attend local high schools. Students come for one school year only.
