Henry County has been growing so much lately that some places are becoming unrecognizable. In an effort to preserve some of the history of our community, The Times is displaying photos of Henry County from the past. If you can name the persons or place shown above, write us at editor@henrycountytimes.com and tell us about it. In the next edition, we’ll reveal the location of the picture and notes readers send us. Photo courtesy of Henry/Clayton Genealogical Society. Visit the Genealogical Society at 71 Macon Street (in the Brown House) in McDonough Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 10 a.m.-3 p.m., Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Last Week's Picture

A special thank you to Marcia L. Atkins for sending this photo to us. She tells us that this is a photo of her parents, Horace Lemon and Rubye Clark Lemon (McDonough), James W, WL, Calvin Lemon (Locust Grove), Wasena Lemon (girl) and Kenneth Lemon.

Miss Willie Varner tells us that this is the Lemon family. The gentleman holding the baby is JW Lemon and the baby is Jimmy Lemon. Also there are Horace Lemon and Calvin Lemon.

Idahlia Johnson tell us “that the man holding the baby was James Lemon. The younger woman is his sister and one of the men is his brother Calvin Lemon.”

Remember you can always take a closer look at photos by visiting www.henrycountytimes.com.
