Sidney Malcom Meroney
Mr. Sidney Malcom Meroney, age 82 of Newnan, formerly of Locust Grove died May 13, 2014. He was born one of twelve children in Rome, Georgia to the late Roscoe and Maude Clark Meroney. Sidney faithfully served his country in the Vietnam War and retired after over 20 years with the United States Army and 24 years with Rich’s Department Store. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He was of the Methodist faith, was a devout Mason and a strong family man.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Eleonore Meroney; children, Pat (Kelly) Ryan of Newnan, Frank Meroney of West Palm Beach, FL, Sandy (Billy) Boyd of Sharpsburg, Dennis (Meriann) Meroney of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; grandchildren, Nichole Jeffery, Lindsey Waldrip, Sydney Boyd and Chandler Boyd; great granddaughter, Ella Jeffery; sisters, Janette Cagle of Gadsden, AL and Juanita Frady of Piedmont, AL.

Elio J. Ronchi
Mr. Elio J. “Ted” Ronchi, age 87 of Locust Grove, Georgia passed away May 14, 2014. He was born in Keystone, Pennsylvania to the late Charles and Caroline Monacelli Ronchi. He was preceded in death by siblings, Susan, Enise, Aldo, Irene and Mary. He served his country in the United States Army during WWII and retired after over 20 years with Proctor and Gamble. He was a devout parishioner of St. James the Apostle Catholic Church in McDonough, Georgia. Ted enjoyed spending time with his friends playing cards and watching horse races.
Survivors include his daughters, Carol Marks of Colorado and Robyn MacAllister (Ken Boyd) of Locust Grove; brother, Enrico Ronchi of East Brunswick, NJ; granddaughters, Christine (Bill) Probst and Dawn Marks both of Colorado; step children, Michael (Caroline) Pasanek of Pittsburgh, PA and Judy (Richard) Connor of California; numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, May 17 from St. James the Apostle Catholic Church with Father Liam Coyne as Celebrant. Tommy David Fowler
Mr. Tommy David Fowler, age 71, of McDonough, Georgia passed away May 19, 2014. Tommy was born in Elyria, OH the son of the late Paul Aaron Fowler, Sr. and Stella Mae Duckett Fowler. Tommy was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with family and friends, singing and considered himself “One Blessed Man.” He had the nick name of “Spoon” because of his joking sense of humor and stirring things up. He owned his own company for 30 years, Fowler Color Company where he traveled the Atlanta area matching paint. He was currently employed by Single Source Inc. He was a Deacon and member of Fairview Baptist Church in Jonesboro and served on the board for Partnerships for Unreached People.
Tommy is survived by his wife of 53 years, Brenda Faith Rutledge Fowler of McDonough; children, Tammy Hill (Gary) of McDonough, Curt Fowler of McDonough and April Cobb (Brad) of Williamson; 13 grandchildren, Curtis, Kayce, Hannah (Jeremy), Caleb, Matthew, Bradley, Brandon, Cassidy, Kelsie, Mason, Kyndell, Tyler, and Jesse; brother, Paul Fowler Jr. (Nancy) of Jonesboro; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Tommy will be Thursday, May 22 at 11 a.m. at Fairview Baptist Church, 1746 Hwy. 138, in Jonesboro with interment to follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens in Fairview.
