According to the U.S. Flag Code, “the flag, when it is in such condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem for display, should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning.”

Residents are welcome to drop off flags in disrepair, or that have become worn, torn, faded or badly soiled and in need of retirement, to the Henry County Veterans Museum, located in the red barn at Heritage Park in McDonough.
