  New Hope UMC will hold their 1st Community Fellowship Dinner on Wednesday,  August  6 from 5:45 until 6:45 p.m. They will serve a full Chick-fil-A meal for just $4 (teens and youth free).   Glen Haven Baptist Church invites the community to services on Sunday, August 3 at 8:15, 9:45 and 11 a.m. The evening service is at 6 p.m. The monthly public servants breakfast will be Wednesday, August 6 at 7:30 a.m. in the gym and please remember the midweek service that evening at 6:45 p.m. Looking ahead, Awana clubs begin August 10.   Heritage Baptist Church will have their annual Back to School Revival on Friday, August 8 at 7 p.m. and is for ages 13 and up.  Brother Tony Hutson will be the speaker this year.   Mt. Bethel UMC invites the community to their Homecoming Weekend at Bethel UMC, Saturday, August 2 and Sunday, August 3. Starting at 5 p.m. on Saturday there will be a Discover the Bethel Cemetery tour. Journey with your family as relatives talk about the history and their loved ones who lie at rest in the cemetery. An ice cream social, music and fun will follow the tour. Join them at 11 a.m. for their Homecoming Celebration service. The Homecoming preacher will be the Rev. Judson “Jay” Hodges.     Henry Baptist Church will begin their Griefshare support group August 3 and then meet each Sunday from 3 until 5 p.m. (for 13 weeks). Griefshare is a weekly seminar and support group for people who are grieving the death of someone close to them. These seminars and support groups are led by people who understand what you are going through and want to help. You will gain access to valuable griefshare resources to help you recover from  your loss and look forward to rebuilding your life. The church is located at 4035 Jodeco Road in McDonough.


  Locust Grove United Methodist Church invites the community to worship with them.   St. James Preschool in McDonough is now enrolling for the 2014-2015 school year. Their school offers preschool for children from 2 to 4 years old.  Moore’s Temple Baptist Church is having a Back To School Bash on Saturday, August 2 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. There will be free school supplies for all children ages 5 and up while they last.   Destiny Tabernacle International Ministries will host a free Back to School and Gospel Fest Event Saturday, August 2 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at 147 Burke Street in Stockbridge.
