Don Mason wrote, “this week’s picture shows McDonough Mayor Billy Copeland with former US Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich. I’m not sure of the date or occasion but judging from their prospective ages, it was probably during Mr. Gingrich’s bid for a seat in the House of Representatives. Prior to his political career, Mr. Gingrich was an economics professor at West Georgia College during my time there as a student.” Henry Wentz, Mona Norton and Sherry Carmichael also correctly identified the photo.
