Lewis Wallace Strickland, age 86, of Locust Grove, Ga., passed away September 17, 2018.

William McCane
William “Van” McCane, of Stockbridge, Ga., passed away on Tuesday September 18, 2018.

James Rogers Firebaugh, Jr.
Lt. Col. James Rogers Firebaugh Jr., (retired) age 88, of McDonough, Ga., passed away October 3, 2018. Bud was born in Atlanta, GA, the son of the late Williette Weaver Firebaugh and James Rogers Firebaugh Sr. Bud graduated from Henry County High School and received his bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Georgia Tech. He served his country in the USAF from July 1951 until July of 1977. As a pilot, he flew the F-86 Sabre Jet in Korea and also flew reconnaissance in the Vietnam War. Bud was a member of McDonough Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing golf, traveling and attending his F-86 Sabre reunions every year in Vegas. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Catherine McGarity Firebaugh.
Survivors are his children, Martain F. Stanley (Mickey) of McDonough, James R. Firebaugh III of Dallas, Ga., and Stanley M. Firebaugh (Debbie) of Mableton; grandchildren, Katherine Corrine Firebaugh of Boston, James Harrison Firebaugh of Dallas, Ga., and Mhari Louise Patterson of Brookhaven; great granddaughter, Amelia Grace Firebaugh of Dallas, Ga.; sister, Jackie Jones of Anchorage, Alaska and several nieces and nephews.
The family received friends at the funeral home on Sunday, October 7, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services were held at McDonough Presbyterian Church on Monday, October 8, 2018 at 3 p.m. with Rev. Nicole Lock officiating. Interment followed at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens in McDonough. Elizabeth Inez Hobby
Mrs. Elizabeth Inez Hobby, age 85, of Stockbridge, Ga., passed away October 6, 2018. Mrs. Hobby was born in Atlanta, Ga., the daughter of the late Edna Irene Corley Reagan and Joseph Reagan. Mrs. Hobby enjoyed spending time with family, friends, and dogs (Coco and Cassie), her church work, camping in the mountains, doing for others, cooking and spoiling her grandchildren. She was a member of McDonough Assembly of God. She was preceded in death by sisters, Annie Jo and Brenda Sue Reagan; and a stepdaughter, Brenda Strickland.
Survivors are her husband, Alvin Hobby of Stockbridge; children, Roger (Terri) Burdette of McDonough, Wayne (Nancy) Burdette of Greensboro, June Sette of Stockbridge, Robert (Marilee) Hobby of Stockbridge, and Patricia H. (Bill) Clotfelter of McDonough; 17 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; siblings, Joyce Moseley of Stockbridge, Richard (Sharon) Reagan of Locust Grove, Roy Reagan of Flovilla, Clifford Reagan of New Jersey; and several nieces and nephews.
The family received friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, October 9 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Reeves officiating. Interment will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park in McDonough.
