Resolutions for the new year

Happy 2019 Henry County! The Geranium dropped on the McDonough Square Monday and we now have a new year full of exciting possibilities. I didn’t make any resolutions this year, but after reaching out to the community, we received a number of responses and have shared some of them below:

I plan to spend less time on social media and get back to letter writing. Today I sent a message to family and friends on Facebook with a New Years Greeting and asked for their mailing addresses and told them to be on the lookout for a good old fashioned letter in the mail from me. How happy I am as the addresses are coming in! I’m excited about this and hope it will restart a long lost trend.

I plan to stop being so lazy and get ‘stuff’ done! I get so overwhelmed that I just quit. Not anymore.
Megan Green – Seneca, S.C.

I didn’t make any resolutions but my hope for 2019 is that my mom remains cancer free and that this is the year my 4 -year-old Cerebral Palsy warrior finally takes her first independent steps!

I foster dogs for a local rescue. My resolution is to recruit and encourage more folks to become fosters for all sorts of animals. It is a wonderful way to do something good in this world and to make a difference to one living creature.
Christine Hurst – McDonough

My New Years Resolution is to become more focused and driven to achieve the goal of positivity in EVERY situation and circumstance, no matter what. Kindness and positivity can sometimes rub off on others, and I want to make an IMPACT in 2019 and beyond!

My resolution for this year is that my husband and I have the strength to start telling people no. Stop being used and taken advantage of!
Michelle Williams – Jackson

My resolution for 2019 is to start living my life. I have been so stressed and busy. I am planning on stopping to smell the roses. To live in the moment and enjoy each day.
Dawn Stephens – Stockbridge

My resolution for 2019 is to be able to buy my house and for my daughter to have a healthy year.
Vita Ramlingum – McDonough

I hope 2019 will bring peace, happiness, love, healing, and financial freedom to my family and to myself.
Stephanie Puckett – Griffin

Plan to paint some more portraits for the movie stars I’ve already done – a painting is worth itself in words … and more.
Terri Danovic – Jackson

I want to spend more quality time with my kids playing games, being creative and active so that they will be on their devices a whole lot less.
Carrie Stephens Green – Hampton

To meditate more and be more financially responsible.
Rebecca Platt-Harendza – Ellenwood

My resolution is to tighten up my groups at the gun range.
Alfred Britt – Stockbridge

My resolution is to eat healthier, be on time and be cleaner. I hope that 2019 will bring me an engagement to my boyfriend of 4 years!
Haley Freshwater – McDonough

To truly live and become physically, mentally and emotionally healthy!
Latrice L. Stowe – Locust Grove

Whether or not you made a resolution, let’s all try and put our best foot forward and be kind to one another. Small changes can make a big difference in your life and the lives of everyone around you.
