A Henry County court recently sentenced a Locust Grove man for the rape of a 16-year-old girl.

According to a statement by the Henry County District Attorney’s Office, a guilty plea was entered December 19 by Errik Slaughter, 47, on charges of rape and aggravated sexual battery.

Henry County Superior Court Judge John A. “Trea” Pipkin III sentenced Slaughter to serve 25 years in prison followed by life on probation. He also must register as a sex offender and have no contact with the victim.

The victim, who was acquainted with Slaughter, told the police last March that the defendant had been drinking when the rape occurred. Slaughter picked up the girl, carried her into a room inside a Henry County home and threw her on a bed before removing the girl’s pants and raping her.

In an unrelated case, the man who pled guilty of vehicular homicide in the 2015 crash that killed McDonough sculptor Andy Davis was sentenced the week before Christmas. Corey Sease received a 15-year sentence from Superior Court Judge Holly Veal with five years to serve in prison.

Sease, of McDonough, entered a guilty plea in November to three counts of vehicular homicide, two counts of driving under the influence and one count of reckless driving. He was 20 years old at the time of the incident.
