 John Benjamin King

  John Benjamin King was born March 15, 1952 in Detroit, Mich., to the late John and Catherine King who preceded him in death. He departed his life on Saturday, January 5, 2019. John attended and graduated Charles Kettering High School in Detroit, Mich. Shortly after his graduation he joined the U.S. Army where he proudly served and retired after 24 years of service where he received an honorable discharge. John and Christine were married on December 27, 1986. They were married for 32 years. John, with his loving wife, Christine and their daughter, Ashley moved to McDonough, Ga., on May 26, 2006, where he became a committee council man for the city and served until his health declined.

  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Gwendolyn King and brother, Ernest Holland.  John is survived by his wife, Christine Tyner-King; his daughter, Ashley King; his son, Darrell King; siblings, Gladys, Ralph, Louis (Elaine), Kenneth, Darrell, Jane, Yolanda, and Rena; sisters-in-law, Michelle Tyner, Camille Tyner; brother-in-law, Christian Tyner; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

  Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at 10 a.m. at the Chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors. Internment will follow on Friday, January 18, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Georgia National Cemetery. The family received friends Tuesday, January 15, 2019 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Dana Lee Holder, Sr.

  Dana Lee Holder, Sr., age 64 of Stockbridge, Ga., died Tuesday, January 8, 2019.

Daniel Preston Langley

  Daniel “Dan” Preston Langley, age 63, of Stockbridge, Ga., passed away Thursday January 10, 2019. He was born in Atlanta, Ga., to the late Daniel Bruce Langley and Louise Langley Goff. Mr. Langley is survived by his wife of 42 years, Molly Langley; children, Daniel Langley and his wife, Kara and Selena Langley and her partner, Alexander Friddell; grandchild, Kaelyn Uhl; sister, Connie Love; brother, Stanley Langley; and several nieces, nephews, and a host of church family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Tony Short, Ronnie Short and sister, Karen Walsh.

  Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 14, 2019 at Community Bible Church in Stockbridge. Interment followed at Eastlawn Memorial Park. Robert W. Wofford, Sr.

  Robert “Bobby” W. Wofford, Sr., age 84, of McDonough, Ga., died Thursday, January 10, 2019.

  Joan Walker George, age 84, of Stockbridge, Ga., died Friday, January 11, 2019.

Ella Marie Kirby

  Ella Marie Kirby, age 88, of Stockbridge, Ga., died Saturday, January 12, 2019. She was born in McDonough, Ga., to the late William and Rosa Mills. Marie was a graduate of Henry County High School. She worked at Dowling Textile, a dental office in McDonough, and later for Dr. Gary Leonard in Alpharetta where she retired. Marie loved to travel with her husband, Jim, and visited many Western and Southern states, Hawaii, Alaska, St. Martin, and Ireland, and loved Caribbean cruises with friends and Jim. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Stockbridge. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, William “Dub” Mills.

  Mrs. Kirby is survived by her husband, James Kirby; children, Steve Willard, Ella Zavada and Rod Willard; grandchildren, Tuesday Overcash, Nicole Tiner, Blakely Healey, Justin Willard, and Kacey Elmore; 5 great-grandsons and 3 great-granddaughters

  Funeral services were held on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at 1 p.m. at Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors with Pastor Steve Murell officiating. Interment followed at Eastlawn Memorial Park. Anthony Stanley Haponski

  Anthony Stanley Haponski, age 72, of Hampton, Ga., died Sunday, January 13, 2019.
