The Henry County Fire Department and the City of McDonough Fire Department have been working in close collaboration over the past several years to expand EMS coverage within the city limits. This goal was realized when, earlier this week, Henry County Rescue Vehicle 51 was officially put into service based out of McDonough Station 51, which is located at 88 Keys Ferry Street.

“There is an undeniable camaraderie among those who dedicate their lives to the field of public safety and, because of this, we often coordinate across county and city limits,” stated Henry County Fire Chief Luther Phillips. “The recent addition of Rescue 51 is a great example of how this teamwork benefits everyone, especially with respect to the best interests of our citizens.”

Fire Chief Steve Morgan added, “This tremendous accomplishment reflects the commitment of the City of McDonough Fire Department, as well as the Henry County Fire Department, to working together to serve all of our citizens.”   In addition to providing a greater level of service to residents of the City of McDonough, Rescue Vehicle 51 will relieve pressure off of Rescue Vehicle 7 which has been responsible for serving the area until now.
