Linda Bonner Henley

  Linda Bonner Henley, age 72 of Locust Grove, Ga., passed away February 6, 2019.

Bruce Miller Malcolm

  Bruce Miller Malcolm, age 83 of Stockbridge, Ga., died Friday February 15, 2019. He was born in Huntington, W. Va., to the late Carni Malcolm and Louise Malcolm. Mr. Malcolm Served in the United States Navy for four years aboard the Intrepid and the Essex. He was a pharmacist in the Henry County area for 30 years. Bruce was a member of the Senior Golfer’s Association. In addition to his parents, Bruce is preceded in death by his siblings, James Mordecai Malcolm, David Lee Malcolm, Mary Katherine Malcolm, Charles Malcolm, Paula Carey and Bob Malcolm.

  Mr. Malcolm is survived by his wife of 59 years Nancy Malcolm; children, Cheryl Ann Maqousi and Steven Bruce Malcolm; grandchildren, Remy Maqousi, Yousef Maqousi, and Angelica Malcolm; and siblings, Richard Malcolm, Helen Ramey and Thomas Malcolm.

Memorial services will be held  on Saturday, March 16 at 2 p.m. in the East Chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors.  The family requests that donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Kaye King Strawn

  Kaye King Strawn, age 77, of McDonough, Ga., passed away on Friday, February 22, 2019 after a long battle with cancer. She was born September 3, 1941 in Columbus, Ga., to the late James Thomas King and Betty Baisch King. Kaye graduated from Columbus High and attended Georgia State College for Women (Georgia College), Milledgeville, Ga. It was at GSCW that she met the love of her life, Norman Strawn, when a friend set them up on a blind date on Valentine’s Day in 1960. Kaye worked several jobs before joining Norman in their business, Strawn & Co. Insurance where they worked alongside one another for 15 years. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of McDonough for 58 years where she played the piano, served on numerous committees and worked in the nursery. Her most treasured service was working with the senior members of the church, the Joyful Bunch, and serving on the bereavement committee. She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). Kaye loved spending time with family. She looked forward to taking her children and grandchildren to the beach each year and together they enjoyed 27 years of family beach trips.

  She is survived by her husband, W. Norman Strawn, Sr.; children, Rusty and Jennifer Strawn and Susan and Whit Echols; grandchildren, McKenzie and Addison Price, Taylor Strawn, Anna Strawn, Bo and Caroline Echols, and Molly Echols; great grandson, Whit Allen Echols; brother, Tommy and Marie King; brother-in-law, Danny Strawn; sister-in-law, Lynda Gayle Strawn; and many nieces and nephews. Kaye was preceded in death by her parents; and grandparents, Lillian Agatha Hodge and Jacob David King, and John Edwards Baisch and Mary Will Bell.

Visitation was held on Sunday, February 24, 2019 from 2-4 p.m. at Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors. Services were held at First Baptist Church of McDonough on Monday, February 25 at 11 a.m. Interment followed at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. Russell A. Blankenship, Sr.

  Russell A. Blankenship, Sr., age 84, of Bob Thomas Road, passed away Friday, February 22, 2019 at Westbury Medical Care and Rehab. He was born July 16, 1934 in Henry County, the son of the late William Arthur and Dolie Brooks Blankenship. He graduated from Jackson High School, loved camping and the mountains, was known for his firm handshake and was very sentimental. He was a deacon at the First Baptist Church of Stockbridge, Ga., was a Sunday School superintendent, teacher and was in the choir. He was also a Sunday School superintendent for the Second Baptist Church in Jackson, Ga. He was also a teacher there and in the choir. He loved music. He was also in the Georgia Air National Guard. He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 1/2 years, Merlene Etheredge Blankenship who passed away January 10, 2003. He was also preceded in death by his sons, Marty and Russell A. (Rusty) Blankenship, Jr., brothers Brooks Blankenship, sister Betty and Corky Phillips.

  Survivors include his wife, Patsy Kitchens Blankenship, daughter, Robin Renee Blankenship and James (Rocky) Jones, three step-children, Scott Cavender, Tom and Carol Cavender, and Christy and Vance Beach. 13 grandchildren, brother, Eugene and Barbara Jo Blankenship, sister-in-law, Pat Blankenship and several nieces and nephews and his three grand dogs.   Funeral services for Russell A. Blankenship, Sr. will be Sunday, February 24, 2019 at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home in Jackson, Ga., with Rev. Tim Prickett and Rev. Preston Bridges will officiate. Interment will be held in the Jenkinsburg City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Haisten Funeral Home on Saturday, February 23, 2019 from 6-8 p.m. Haisten Funeral Home of Jackson, Ga., is in charge of arrangements.
