The ninth annual Living Legends Inc., A.D. Washington Scholarship Golf Tournament is set for April 6 at Crystal Lake Golf & Country Club, 100 Crystal Lake Blvd. Registration is scheduled from 8-9:15 a.m., and the tournament will at 9:30 a.m.

The occasion is billed as Atlanta’s premier entertainment industry golf tournament for 2019. Proceeds from the event will benefit college students majoring in the arts and music through the Living Legends Foundation (LLF) Scholarship Program.

Kevin Liles, founder and chief executive officer of 300 Entertainment, is the honorary chairman for the golf tournament. He said he is “honored” to do his part in support students’ educational efforts.

“As an executive, I feel with success comes responsibility,” said Liles. “It’s important for me to give back, supporting not only other veterans in the entertainment business but also supporting historically black college and university  students. My love for the game is something I want to share with the world. I’m looking forward to a great day of giving and golf.”

The tournament was renamed this year to honor record executive A.D. Washington, the foundation’s longest-serving chairman. He led the organization from 1998 to 2011 and passed away in November of 2017.

David Linton, chairman of the Living Legends Foundation said the event helps to further the group’s mission while recognizing Washington’s accomplishments.

“Our annual golf tournament is always a worthy event that allows us to fulfill our goals as both a charitable organization and a vital networking group that brings industry professionals together from across the country,” said Linton. “It was a no-brainer to honor A.D. Washington, by renaming the tournament after him. We will always remember his dedication to the foundation, and the tournament was one of his favorite events.”

The LLF is geared toward honoring pioneers and professionals in broadcasting, recorded music, marketing, retail, publicity, publishing, digital, creative, and philanthropy. It also provides scholarships to college students who are pursuing careers in the media and entertainment industries.  For more information, visit www.livinglegendsfoundation.com.
