Oscar I. Hancock, Sr.

  Oscar I. Hancock, Sr., age 78, of McDonough, Ga., died Friday March 15, 2019.

Laura Zehner Johnson

  Laura Zehner Johnson, age 56, of McDonough, died Monday March 25, 2019.

James D. Bailey

  James D. Bailey, age 62, of Port Orange, Fla., passed away on April 4, 2019. He was a member of CrossRoads Church in Daytona Beach. Jim was an operations manager for a trucking company in Georgia, before moving to Florida. He always helped people and considered everyone he met a friend. Bringing people together for fish frys, cook outs and having fun brought him great joy. Jim was a handyman that could fix anything. He was a great fisherman.  He didn’t go fishing, he went catching! He dearly loved his family and friends and wanted them all to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Jim was a loving husband, dad and papa.

  He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 39 years, Scarlett Gay Bailey, sons Timothy James (Jennifer) Bailey of Alexandria, Va., and Robert Lee (Brittany) Bailey of Jenkinsburg, Ga., brothers, Thomas Bailey of Jackson, Ga., and Paul Bailey of Morrow, Ga., and his three beloved granddaughters, Kara, Sophia and Chloe.

  A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Morrow, 1647 Lake Harbin Road. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to either a church or the charity of your choice.

Winona Quinn Evans

  Winona Quinn Evans, quietly departed this life on Tuesday April 9, 2019.

Wendy Thorpe Johnston

  Mrs. Wendy Thorpe Johnston, 76 of Jackson, Ga., passed away April 11, 2019. She was born May 5, 1942 in Sutton Bridge, England to the late McKenzie and Eliza Thorpe. She was very active in her church as an usher, greeter, care group leader, child care, and serving on the flower and bereavement committees. Mrs. Johnston came to the United States in 1959 from England after marrying Ken while he was in the US Air Force. Wendy retired as a manager from the Holiday Inn in Hapeville after 25 years. She enjoyed spending time with family, gardening, animals, knitting, and delivering Meals on W­heels. Wendy is also preceded in death by a brother Raymond Thorpe and two sisters Barbara Adams and Rachel Smith.

  Mrs. Johnston is survived by her husband of 59 years, Ken Johnston, children Lori (Mike) Davis, and Scott Johnston, Mark (Angela) Johnston, grandchildren, Jenna (David) James, Zachary Davis, Kyle, Mary, Ryan and Maggie Pearl Johnston. Great grandchildren, Michael, Benjamin, Eliana, Noah, Daniel, Samuel and Gabriel James. Brother, McKenzia Thorpe of Australia and sister, Fay Archer of Canada.

  The visitation for Mrs. Johnston was held on Monday April 15, 2019. Funeral Services were held on Monday, April 15, 2019 in the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home with Rev. Kenny Heath officiating.
