Horace Paul Brannan

  Mr. Horace Paul Brannan, age 75 of McDonough passed away October 4, 2019. He was born March 5, 1944 in McDonough, Ga., to the late Lewis B. Brannan and Stella S. Brannan. Mr. Brannan was preceded in death by his brothers, Lewis O. Brannan and James R. Brannan. Mr. Brannan served his country proudly in The United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam era.

  He is survived by his daughter Traci Schefdore (Bill) of Cumming, Ga.; grandchildren, James Schefdore, Matthew Schefdore, Frank Youngner Jr,; sister Martha B. Mann of McDonough; brothers Raymond Brannan (Barbara) of Ellijay, Ga.; George Brannan (Tommye) of Braselton, Ga. and Tom Brannan (Linda) of Hayes-ville, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews.

  The family will receive friends at Haisten Funeral Home in McDonough, Saturday, October 12 from 3-5 p.m. A private memorial service is planned for a later date with interment at Georgia National Cemetery. Ted Godlewski

  Mr. Ted Godlewski, age 73, of McDonough, Ga., passed away Friday, October 4, 2019, surrounded by his loving family. Born September 7, 1946 in Atlanta, Ga., he was a son of the late Theodore Godlewski and Jane Keeble Godlewski. Ted grew up in the Atlanta area and was a graduate of Briarcliff High School. At 18 years old, he joined the Marines to serve his country.

Ted was giving, helpful, a man of conviction, a patriot, a very practical man. He was thoughtful in giving great advice, but only when asked. He was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time in his yard daily. He was a lifelong fan of Georgia Bulldogs football. Go Dawgs! He will be missed and forever cherished.

  He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Barbara Moss Godlewski; his son Wesley of Atlanta, Ga.; his aunt, Joyce Chastain of Clayton, Ga.; and brothers, a sister and many nieces and nephews.

  A celebration of life will be held Tuesday, October 8, 2019, at 1 p.m. at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, 1933 Mt. Carmel Rd, Hampton, GA. No flowers please, donations to Golden Retriever Rescue of Atlanta, www.GRRA.com would be appreciated, as he loved his Golden, Max, like no other.

Gloria Ann Canup

  Gloria Ann Canup, age 91, of McDonough, Ga.,  passed away on Monday, October 7, 2019.

Garry “Biff” Collins

  Biff Collins, age 64, of McDonough, Ga., died Sunday, October 6, 2019. He was born in Atlanta, Ga., to the late Grover Lee Collins and Margaret Collins. Biff worked at Collins Auto Parts, was a bailiff for Henry County Sheriff’s Department and a member of Timberridge Presbyterian Church. He was also a Member of Fraternal Lodge # 37 F & AM and enjoyed spending time at Jackson Lake and with his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Donnie Collins, and sister, Bonnie Collins Fincher.

  Biff is survived by his wife of 40 years Jil Collins; son, Kipp (Amy) Collins; daughter, Kelli (Shane) Gilliam; grandchildren, Jaxson and Koralyn Gilliam; nieces, Leslie Clarkson and Cori Collins; nephew, Winn Fincher.

  Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, October 16, 2019, at Timberridge Presbyterian Church with Rev. Rachael Whaley-Pate officiating. Inturnment will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 15, 2019, from 6-8:30 p.m. at Timberridge Presbyterian Church in the Fellowship Hall.
