The Henry County Police Department also unveiled a new piece of equipment, the BearCat, an armored tactical vehicle, that was purchased as a result of the events that took place.

“After this incident, it had become readily apparent that we were going to need an armored vehicle. At the time of this incident, we were forced to call our neighboring counties, and Clayton and Butts counties responded to help us,” said Henry County Police Chief Mark Amerman. During tactical operations these other armored vehicles got shot 12 times. I truly believe that these armored vehicles helped save lives that day. Now that the county has one, I believe that’s going to save officer’s lives.”
