Hampton Girl Scout Troop 16903 contacted their representatives in Hampton concerned that smoking was allowed in their city parks. They came to speak at numerous council meetings to express their concerns of the dangers of secondhand smoke to children. The Hampton City Council listened and in February a law was passed that made it illegal to smoke in any City Park in Hampton.
