Updates from Henry County government

Comments Off on Updates from Henry County government

Henry County government is continuing to operate with all of its facilities closed to the public through March 27, after which officials will take another look at the situation and decide how to proceed next week.

Employees will continue to telework when feasible, and public safety agencies will continue their regular work schedules and services. Senior Services is delivering Meals on Wheels to current clients and is providing drive-up lunch service for seniors at Bear Creek, Heritage Park and Hidden Valley Senior Centers. Henry County Transit has suspended service but continues to transport critically ill patients. Some county employees have been working on-call schedules in order to provide necessary services.

Clients who currently receive Meals on Wheels and in-home services are continuing to receive them, but no new clients are being added at this time. Clients who are already registered with Senior Services will be permitted to purchase a meal in a drive-thru line, Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

There is a limit of one meal per client using the drive-thru service to ensure that all seniors who take part in the program are able to receive them. Senior Services is not able to provide meals for extended family members.

The Henry County Parks and Recreation Department announced Monday that its break week camp for students, scheduled for April 6-10, has been cancelled.

The county has implemented a new feature page to its website to provide citizens the latest and most updated information regarding COVID-19. The coronavirus resource page contains county news, information and closings; links to Department of Public Health and Centers for Disease Control information; news and information about the Henry County’s cities, courts, businesses and schools; and links to various social media pages. Find it at www.co.henry.ga.us/covid-19.
