The Times recently took a cruise to Cozumel and Progresso, Mexico with our Staff Reporter, Erin Lopez (right), and her friend, Ashlyn Brown.

“Our first stop was in Cozumel where we stopped at a local beach to take photos, learned about the history of the local Mayan ruins, ate a traditional Mayan meal and tried different types of local chocolates. One of the main things that Cozumel is known for is their chocolate, so it was so cool getting the opportunity to try it there. Our last stop was in Progresso. We did a cavern and lazy river swim, got to explore the Mayapan Ruins, and wrapped it all up with an another authentic Mayan lunch. This was hands down the best vacation trip I’ve taken. I love learning about different cultures and their way of living compared to us here in Henry County,” said Ashlyn Brown.
