Thanks to Mike Moon for sending us this photograph. Mike wrote, “this is a photo of the minister who started the very first Presbyterian Church in McDonough on Lawrenceville Street in the 1820’s.  His name was Rev. James Gamble. He was born in 1788 in South Carolina and died in 1867 in Chattooga County, Ga. He moved there after being in McDonough for about 10 years. He created a new church outside of Summerville, Ga., named Pleasant Green.”
