Jimmy H. Hammock, Sr.
Jimmy H. Hammock, Sr., age 83, of Stockbridge, Ga., died Saturday, August 8, 2020. He was born in Locust Grove, Ga., to the late Henry Carson Hammock and Ruby Lee Hammock. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Robert “Bob” Hammock and William “Bill” Hammock; and daughter Lucile “Luci” Hammock.
Mr. Hammock is survived by his wife, of 61 years, Tommie Hammock; sons, Jimmy Harris (Caryl) Hammock Jr., Randall Ford (Lura) Hammock, Ronald Carson (Regina) Hammock, and Daniel Thomas (Katherine C.) Hammock; grandchildren, Jessica Caryl (Kyle) Martell, Matthew Patrick (Rebecca) Thompson, Sean Michael Hammock, Luke Colville (Katherine E.) Hammock, James Carson Hammock, David Harris Hammock, Mark Bridges Hammock, and Sara Beth Hammock; great-grandchildren, Hailey Thompson, Andrew Thompson, McKenzie Martell, Lucy Hammock, and Jackson Martell; siblings, Hazel Gardner, Mary Jo Leverette, Ann Gardner, Larry (Clara) Hammock, and Linda (Ed) Branan; sweet dog, Susie; 73 first cousins; several nieces, nephews, and loved ones. He retired from Eastern Airlines, Chick-fil-A, and the Henry Board of transportation. Jimmy was also an avid fan of Georgia Tech and the Atlanta Braves.
