Willene Dodd Bourn
Mrs. Willene Dodd Bourn, age 89, of McDonough, Ga., passed away August 20, 2020. She was born in Forsyth County, Ga., to the late Linton William and Fannie Mae Hitt Dodd. Willene was a dental assistant for many years for Dr. Perpall and Dr. Towe. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of McDonough for 37 years. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels for 25 years and enjoyed spending time with her family, working in her yard and gardening. She was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, William Henry Bourn.
Survivors include her children, Diane (Sherwood) Long of Locust Grove and Billy (Lynn) Bourn of McDonough; grandchildren, Scott (Suzanne) Long of McDonough, Amanda Long of Forsyth, Angie (Mark) Phillips of McDonough and Travis (Karen) Long of McDonough; great grandchildren, Lauren Long, Blake Long, Devin Skelton, Tyler Skelton, Madison Phillips, Bryson Long, Bayleigh Long and Brystol Long; sisters, Dorothy McLendon of Covington and Betty Upchurch of Dacula numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at the First Baptist Church of McDonough with Dr. Charles Thomas and Rev. Tom Bergman officiating. Interment followed at Dawn Memorial Park. For those who wish, contributions may be made to Henry County Meals on Wheels or First Baptist Church of McDonough in memory of Mrs. Bourn. John Gilbert, Jr.
John “Michael” Gilbert, Jr., age 49, of Ellenwood, Ga., passed away on August 20, 2020. He was born on Torrejon Air Force base near Madrid, Spain, on February 5, 1971, to Nancy Malone Gilbert and John Michael Gilbert Sr. He was a graduate of Morrow High School. His greatest joy was spending time with his beautiful adoring children, Garret 17, Lilly 8, and Reed 5. Michael was preceded in death by his grandparents; Audie and Joseph Malone of Morrow and John and Rebekah Gilbert of Stockbridge.
He is survived by his mother; Nancy Malone Gilbert of Ellenwood, father and step-mother; Mike and Sue Gilbert of Roswell, children; Garret, Lilly, and Reed; step-sister, Ginger Hughes (Stan) of Douglas, Georgia; a Special Grandmother, Margaret Gilbert of McDonough and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and nephews. He is greatly loved by all and will be sorely missed.
