Grace Bennett

  Grace Bennett, age 101, of McDonough, Ga., passed away on November 12, 2020. She was preceded in death by her husband, Durrell Bennett and son, Cecil Tate.

  She is survived by her daughters, Joan Coker and Louise Trammell; grandchildren, Jeff (Tammy) Coker and their daughter Carys; Mike Coker (Tonyia) and Mike’s son, Ryan; Stacey Trammell; Keith Tate; Glenda Tate and several great-grandchildren.

  Funeral services were held on Monday, November 16, 2020 at the Chapel of Ingram Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Vaughn officiating. Interment followed at Haw Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Debra Ann Suderman

  Debra Ann Suderman, age 66, of Stockbridge, Ga., quietly departed this life on Tuesday, November 17, 2020.

Warren Ellis Sims

  Mr. Warren Ellis Sims, age 84, of McDonough, Ga., went to his Heavenly home on Friday, November 20, 2020. He was born May 29, 1936 in McDonough, Ga., to the late James Melvin and Bessie Mae Upchurch Sims. Warren served his country in the United States National Guard. He married Mary Hooten Sims on April 25, 1958 and was married for 62 years. He was saved at the age of 16 in August of 1952. He was a member of Sharon Baptist Church for 68 years and served our Savior as church treasurer, Sunday School and Training Union teacher, faithful Deacon and Chairman of the Deacons and a faithful choir director and choir member. He also sang with several Gospel Quartet Groups. Warren loved gardening and growing his own vegetables, especially tomatoes. He sold them to friends and neighbors with whom he loved talking about his gardening. He also loved baseball, the Atlanta Braves, a good western (Gunsmoke) and Gospel Quartets, his favorite being the Cathedrals. He worked for Snapper Power Equipment, Rexall Drugs, Hoffman LaRoche, Squibb Pharmaceuticals and Henry Medical Center until he retired. He was preceded in death by his sister, Margie Mason and brothers, James and Charles Sims.

  Survivors include his wife, Mary Sims; son, Wayne Sims, both of McDonough; daughter Debbie (Don) Long of Milledgeville; sister in law, Ellen Sims of McDonough; grandchildren, Amber (Brad) Roberts of Eatonton and Allen Long of Milledgeville; great-grandchildren, Blake and Abigail Roberts of Eatonton; several nieces and nephews.

Wayne Eugene Harris

  Wayne Eugene Harris, age 77, of Hampton, Ga., quietly departed this life on Wednesday, November 25, 2020.

William Henry Simpson, Jr.

  Mr. William Henry Simpson, Jr., age 83, of McDonough, Ga., passed away on November 25, 2020. Henry was born in Griffin, Ga., to the late William Henry Simpson, Sr. and Virginia Clyde Oglesby Simpson. He attended Hampton High School and was a graduate of Phillips Academy, Andover, Mass., and played basketball and was in the ROTC. He served his country in the United States Army. He received his Civil Engineering degree from Georgia Tech and retired after 30 years with GDOT. Henry was a member of Berea Christian Church. He enjoyed the outdoors, cutting grass, working on his tractor and traveling. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Joyce Webb Simpson in 1994 and by his son-in-law, Tim Carter.

  Survivors include his wife, Anita Thornton Simpson; daughter, Denise Simpson Carter; grandchildren, Robert Carter and Samantha Carter; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jerry and Susan Webb; nieces, Kim and Dan Baskerville and Diana and Dominic LaBarbera; great nephews; numerous cousins.

  A graveside service was held on Monday, November 30, 2020  at 2 p.m. at Eastlawn Memorial Park. Wanda Lee Guinn Coada

  Mrs. Wanda Lee Guinn Coada, age 81, passed away at her home on Friday, November 27, 2020. Wanda was born in Maryville, Tenn., on Saturday, May 6, 1939. She was the daughter of the late Edward Cecil Guinn and the late Pauline Atchley Guinn. Wanda loved her church, her family, and being around people. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Allen Coada; and brother, Jimmy Guinn.

  Wanda is survived by her husband of 57 years, Kermit Coada; children, Ken Coada, James and Stacey Coada; grandchildren, Tiffany Hysell, Deborah and Nick Vogt, Michael Coada, Madalin Coada, Caitlin Coada, Kasie Cain; great-grandchildren, Melody and Allison; sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Jimmy Fox; and several nieces and nephews.

  A funeral service for Mrs. Wanda Coada was held at Sherrell Memorial Chapel on Monday, November 30, 2020, at 1 p.m. with Reverend Zach Nipper and Reverend Herman Henderson officiating. Jenny Taylor Evans

  Mrs. Jenny Taylor Evans, age 74, of McDonough, Ga., passed away November 30, 2020. She was born in Griffin, Ga., to the late Henry Marvin and Geneva Elizabeth Kelley Taylor. Jenny was a graduate of Henry County High School, Class of 1964 and retired after over 30 years with the Henry County Board of Elections. She was a member of Sharon Baptist Church and loved to spend time with her family and grandchildren. She enjoyed games of chance and playing Bingo and trips to the Sock Shoppe in Griffin. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Floyd Evans and siblings, Billy Taylor, Marvina Taylor and JoEllen Ladd.

  Survivors include her children, Kim (Rodney) Johnson of McDonough, Jim (Susie) Evans of McDonough and Jerry Evans of Jackson; grandchildren, Taylor Johnson, Addison Johnson, Travis Evans, Jessica Evans and Kristi Evans; brother, Henry (Brenda) Taylor of McDonough; numerous nieces and nephews.  

  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at 11 a.m. at the Sharon Baptist Church, Chapel Sanctuary. Interment will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park.
