Community Gardens of Henry County recently held the dedication of a new shade structure with picnic tables at the Wesley Way garden adjacent to Wesley Way United Methodist Church. The structure was an Eagle Scout project of Christopher Alvarez of Troop 66 in McDonough.

The structure was dedicated to the memory of two men. Brian Bouts was the manager of the Helping Harvest garden for the needy on the site for several years. James M. Cornacchia was the Cubmaster for Troop 66.

Those present for the dedication and ribbon cutting included Christopher Alvarez, his parents (at left) Mrs. Jean Bouts (center), Wesley Way pastor Rev. Michelle Strall and Marjorie Thomas, coordinator of the Wesley Way Community Garden.                                   Special photo

Marjorie Thomas, coordinator of the Wesley Way community garden, noted that the new rest area for gardeners will be very welcome.
