Bobby T. Purvis

Brenda Lois Knighton

  Brenda Lois Knighton, age 71, of Stockbridge, Ga., died Tuesday, December 1, 2020. She was born in Kaufman, Tex., to the late Earnets Roberts and Ruth Odessa Knighton Roberts. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Onieda Knighton; sister, Mary Louise Reed; brother, Jimmy David Knighton.

  Brenda Knighton is survived by daughter, Ronda (Ross) Anderson; partner Jack Carrera; grandchildren, Raenah Anderson, Autumn Anderson, and William Anderson, brother, Joe Bailey Knighton; brother, Bobby Lee Knighton; sister, Mae Alice Slape; brother, Billy Barrel Knighton; sister, Shirley Ruth Knighton; brother, Kenneth Woolard Wynn Knighton; sister, Linda Joyce Meador.

Bobby Eugene Craig, Sr.

  Mr. Bobby Eugene Craig, Sr., age 88, of McDonough, Ga., passed away on December 2, 2020. He was born in McDonough, Ga., to the late John Hugh and Mildred Cowan Craig. Bobby was a graduate of Henry County High School and Georgia State University. He faithfully served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He retired after 33 years with Bellsouth and owned Craig Janitorial Services for 40 years. Bobby was a member of Turner United Methodist Church, where he was on the Board of Directors for 50 years. He was a Mason and a charter member of the Henry County Shriners. He was a member of the Henry County Fraternal Order of the Moose, where he served as Governor three times and was a Pilgrim. Bobby was on the Board of Directors of FGB Bank (now BB&T). He enjoyed dancing, sports and was an ASA coach for the Ladies Softball Team, having won the 1966 state championship. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Holbrook Craig and by nine brothers and one sister. 

  Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Bobby (Donna) Eugene Craig, Jr. and their children, Brittany and Kyle Craig all of Hampton; son and daughter-in-law, Glenn (Paulette) Smith of Stockbridge and their children, Nicole (Brandon) Hayslept of Stockbridge, Nick (Shellie) Smith of McDonough, Jennifer Price of Covington and Jessica Smith of Chamblee; seven great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Sammy (Kim) Craig and Mike (Brenda) Craig all of McDonough; numerous nieces and nephews.

  A graveside service was held on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at Eastlawn Memorial Park with Rev. Leon Baxter officiating.
