On Thursday, April 29 several members from the Henry County Fire Department received various awards from the Georgia Office of EMS & Trauma’s Region 4 Office. Region 4 encompasses approximately 13 counties from western to central Georgia and includes numerous EMS agencies, private and public.


On hand to present the awards were Henry County Fire Chief Luther Phillips, Fayette County Fire Chief Jeff Hill, and Region 4 Council Member and Fayette County Fire Division Chief Steven Folden.

The Region 4 Paramedic of the Year Award was awarded to Paramedic Kyla Baker, Kyla also accepted the Region 4 Pediatric Award of Excellence on behalf of Henry County Fire Station #7, B-shift personnel for their response to a call in April of 2020.


The Region 4 EMT of the Year Award was awarded to FF/EMT Robert LaDouceur. Lt. Wanda Maddox with the Henry County Fire Prevention Bureau was awarded the Region 4 Champion of Children Excellence Award for Lt. Maddox’s continued efforts in the areas of Fire Prevention and Fire Safety Education.


The Region 4 Excellence in Trauma Care award was awarded to Lt. Dustin Mills and Paramedic Preston Jeanis on behalf of Henry County Fire Station #5, C-shift personnel for their response to a trauma call in September of 2020.
