On Saturday, September 11, the Henry County Master Gardeners will host their third annual Gardening Symposium. Speakers at the event will include:

Karin Rutishauser will present on Edible, Medicinal, and Native Herbs. She will also have some of her herbs available for purchase.

Ashley Frasca, from WSB Radio’s “Green and Growing, will present on getting gardens beautiful for Spring by discussing Garden Preparation for Fall/Winter.

After lunch, Sara Henderson will share her knowledge on Hydrangeas in Southern Gardens.

To close out the day, Fayette County Extension Agent Kim Toal will be speaking on Flowering Bulbs for Georgia Gardens.
There will also be a silent auction with multiple prizes, including a 4-night stay in a condo at Orange Beach, Alabama. Local businesses will be participating as vendors, and guests will have time to shop during the morning and afternoon breaks, as well as during lunch.

Tickets are $35 through August 31 and $40 as of September 1. There is limited seating, so register early to secure attendance. Tickets are available at the Henry County Farmer’s Market on Thursdays from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. from now until August 26. They are also available for purchase at the UGA Extension Office at 97 Lake Dow Road, McDonough.
