Henry Youth Lacrosse is currently registering boys and girls for its fall programs. Lacrosse – often called the ‘fastest game on two feet’ has elements of hockey, basketball, soccer and football – all rolled into one fast-paced sport. Lacrosse is one of the fastest-growing sports in the U.S. and the oldest sport in North America, with its origins deeply rooted in Native American culture and history.

The Henry Youth Lacrosse program exists to help more boys and girls discover, learn, and play the game. Part of the reason the sport has grown in popularity is that it is easy to learn and all players get a lot of action in both practices and games.

Lacrosse has been growing at the high school level in Henry County for several years now, including more than 8 girls and 2 boys varsity teams and even a few JV programs – so there are options for youth players who stick with the sport through high school.

“Lacrosse is a sport where every kid on the team gets a lot of playing time in games due to the pace of play and amount of running involved,” says Jeremy Porter, President of Henry Youth Lacrosse. “Once a boy or girl tries lacrosse for the first time, they’re usually begging their parents to bring them back for more. More than 95 percent of players who join one of our youth teams come back to play the next season.”

For more information on Henry Youth Lacrosse’s fall programs, please visit henryyouthlax.org. Registration is $155 for the fall season, which includes a uniform and all practice/game-related costs. The program also works to lower participation fees through new player and multi-player family discounts.
