A local young lady recently helped make the lives of homeless pets in Henry County a little easier. This year, instead of presents for her birthday, Madison Rogers chose to collect food and supplies for donation to the nonprofit group Street Paws.

Street Paws is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization that works to reduce animal population through spay/neuter, promote responsible pet ownership including vaccinations and humane education and seek suitable homes for unwanted and neglected animals.

Madison is the daughter of Jessica Fogle who runs Empson’s Cafe & Deli. “This is one smart girl and she is becoming an encyclopedia of knowledge about kittens. She is learning so much from the Kitten Lady and other online resources and hopes to one day be a veterinarian. She plans to start volunteering with Street Paws to learn more valuable skills to help animals. This girl is going to be amazing when she grows up,” said Kristi Butler, President and Founder of Street Paws.
