Barbara Wilkerson Tinley
Ms. Barbara Wilkerson Tinley, age 75, of McDonough, Ga., passed away peacefully on Friday, December 9, 2022. She was born in Griffin, Ga., on January 22, 1947, the daughter of the late John Arnold and Emma Wilkerson. During her working career, she served as a project accountant for Jordan, Jones, & Goulding Inc. After retirement, she enjoyed traveling with “The Girls” and shopping with her granddaughter, Taylor. In her free time, you could find Barbara reading or watching her great-nephews and nieces play ball. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Ms. Tinley is survived by her granddaughter, Taylor Alexis Tinley; sisters, Brenda Morgan and Mary (Wayne) Cook; nephews, Scott (Kristi) Tolleson, Monte (Gail) Tolleson, Alan (Colleen) Cook; nieces, Jamie (Scott) Joseph, Amber (Dave) Womack; special great-nephews, Zach Tolleson, Harrison Tolleson, Gray Cook, Jay Joseph, Hayden Womack; special great-nieces, Abigail Tolleson, Rylee Cook, Harper Womack; as well as several extended family members and friends.
Funeral services were held on Friday, December 16, 2022 at McDonough Presbyterian Church; with her nephew, Monte Tolleson, officiating. Betty Jean Waltrip
Betty Jean Waltrip, age 88, of McDonough, Ga., passed away on Friday, November 25, 2022. She was born in Marion, S.C. on September 23, 1934, the daughter of the late Thomas Legette and Edith Driggers. Betty was a loving wife, mother, and caretaker of all those around her. She spent most of her working career in retail sales. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Nelson Waltrip.
Betty leaves behind sons, Thomas, Mike, and Richard Waltrip; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; brother, Marion Waltrip; several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Carolyn Cathy Dickerson
Carolyn Cathy Dickerson, age 100, of McDonough, Ga., died on December 15, 2022. She was born May 23, 1922 in Henry County, daughter of the late Olin E. and Mae Jackson Cathy. She was a member of McDonough First United Methodist Church and the Samaritans Sunday School Class. Mrs. Dickerson was multi-talented as a homemaker and in her chosen career in the securities industry. She retired from Trust Investments, Wachovia Bank. Her joy in life came from her faith in God, her family and friends and in being a mentor to young associates. She enjoyed travel, helping others and being volunteer driver for family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd G. Dickerson in 1988 and two siblings, Nettie C. Joyner and Lawton J. Cathy.
She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Jack Clavell of Atlanta and son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey L. and Susan Dickerson of St. Johns, Fla.; granddaughter and her husband, Alicia and Michael McCall of Birmingham, Ala.; great-grandson, Sebastian McCall; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Monday, December 19, 2022 at the McDonough First United Methodist Church. Interment followed at McDonough City Cemetery.
